I belive lots of the hardcore mmo'ers can have things in common with that diagnosis. But that dont mean they got it, fortunately.
I was always an puzzle for my teachers, none had an clue, i was bright, really bright, disliked sport as other kids loved (i had hard astma too), not socially active really, etc. I heard about it from an psycologist i talked to, when i belived i was getting an standard "what job fits you" thingy.
On common IQ test i show up as really bright, on both the old knowledge and logical hybrids, and modern logical ones as Raven's, used by mensa.
On tests as used by psychologists, i show up somewhat different. Im actually quite ok with relating to ppl and understanding them, and even know an person or two, one i think seems to have way worse symptoms in relating to ppl, but who got health care relatives and is an "family genius", more or less. Here i live, noone know what it is, and most think an guy with logical/analytical IQ in the mensa spectrum is an autist if he isnt able to do fast heavy work for some reason, ive worked at an "sheltered worplace" as an worker, and helped autistic ppl, with help of an proffesional who even have written psychology books, and noone at all thought about asperger, and later, an foregin psychologis i go to for "job consulting" while unemplyed suddenly confirm all i know of myself.
Yes, i got horrible hand-eye coordination, and do extremely detailed work, as paining, shure, but SLOW.
Yes, im somewhat unsocial, and seems to prefer playing games in front of going out and "party". I do read ppl's body language, but i didnt really before i was 15-16 do it good i think. I knew to read before i started school, and that is typical asperger, too, in some cases, i have good memory, and i think i memorised written words, and learned reading trough memorising often used words, as whole, and understood simple sentence structures that way.
Famous ppl who got it, is among Dan Acroyd, actor, Bram Cohen, maker of bittorrent, and lots of highly educated ppl, among such as Richard Borcherds who is mathematician.
Some got potential. shure, but unfortunately not all. Some got average skills, and lots of problems, too. I simply got an mild "case" on the border, and some skills above average, so im quite lucky, though.
