Noooo,
It's not like I'm very new at shooter games...
Ok, lemme tell you all my personal history with these type of games, and how BADLY I suck at them.
Back in the day, my dad dated this lady that had a buncha old shooter games on her computer. They wern't to old by those days standards I guess, but they're mad old now. My dad would drag me out to her place for the weekend all the time, much to my dismay (this is also how I got started being a gamer. I needed something to do over there, so I'd borrow game systems and games).
To combat the bordom of not having anything to do aside from study, doodle, and talk on the phone (I went to friends houses as often as I could when fridays rolled around), I'd play those games on her computer.
I started with Woldenstien or something close to that. I had to play on easy mode, otherwise I'd get roasted easy. After that, I'd play Doom, Doom 2, and Heretic. ALL were played on easy. I never ever got far with any of the doom games unless I saved alot after a messy encounter. It was TOUGH!

even on easy, It was hard. I sucked bad back then. Really bad. It was part of the challenge to beat boredom to get good, but I'm afraid that never happened. ^_^;
Fast forward a few years,
I'm on a cool computer (for the time, and it's sence degraded into Gimpness). A friend comes over. When he leaves, he leaves some stuff behind on accident. Among that, his Half-life cd. A week goes by before he can come over to get it all.
"Oh, this is where my Half-life CD went to. Well, you can keep it. I burned a copy from a friend." And that's how I got Half-life. He installed it for me, showed me how to play, and I got ripped up by a zombie. ^_^;
Him: Go back! Go back!
Me: I am I am!! O_o
*gets smacked by a zombie thing*
him: Something's probably in the way. Jump back or run around it!
*jumps straight up in the air.
*Gets smacked again*
Me: ACK!! I'm dying! I forgot to save!
Him: run around him!
*runs right into him*
*gets smacked and dies.*
Him: ... here, lemme turn the difficulty down a bit.
For the longest time, the game collected dust on my computer. Diablo 2 got boring for me, and I needed entertainment. So I rememebred I had this game I never really played much of. I played it on easy, and actually managed to do really well for myself... on easy mode and saving after every conflict, and doing my best to be as effitant as possable.
So, I got really far. I belive I even beat the game too, after a verrry long time. I was very proud of myself.

I thought this made me good at shooter games. ^_^ Man was I ever wrong.
I jumped into a multiplayer game at a friends suggestion. I popped up somewhere, and died. ^_^ I popped up, grabbed a gun, and started sneaking around. I peeked around corners, croched, all that jazz. everything I did to do as well as I did in the game. But, it wasn't working. ^_^ I kept dying!
I got locked into a 1:1 fight with one guy. I told him I was totally new, and we get into a rumble in an open field with no cover. I'm trying to draw a beat on his guy, but he's jumping in circles around me! really fast!

I was using everything in my power to get this guy, and I think he was using the handgun or the crowbar, and managed to smoke me.
This is how I know I suck. I'm no newbie at shooters, but I play like I am. ^_^;;
