who needs GSP, make your own content :p one of my favorite websites www.analogx.com wich specializes in simple small software has a shotcast server application. I was playing around with it and the plug-in for winamp. Dude to my shitty on-board sound card I can't do live DJing, i can only stream the output of winamp. not sure I would talk about tho. Then there is the issue music. The issue is a little shaky on if you could play music without paying some sort of service to keep the RIAA out of your rectum. Or you could just go the acid planet and get a whole bunch of music from there to play :P I was doing all of this going off my home cable modem. So i'm sure if I started doing a radio program I would only probally be able to hold a small handfull of listeners. I'm also sure cox(my ISP) wouldn't be to happy with me.

Thank you for your opinion and I'm sure that your technical information might prove useful to someone. However it seems a bit impolite to place this on a web site dedicated to a particular streaming web cast. Your opening indicates to me that you are somehow unhappy with GSP and while we can't please everyone we are open to opinions and feedback.

Note please that each DJ has their own style and method and show format and it's unlikely that those will change because every DJ has their own core of dedicated followers and when your catering to the general public it's a definate fact that you can't please everyone.

Also this is my own opinion and I don't talk for anyone but myself.
Just a lil Fishi3... Glub, Glub.

People like you are why people like me lose their niceness. You are an idiotic little twit with nothing better to do than to Post against the very forum you are a member of how dare you. You are allowed to have your own opinions and to listen to what ever you want but stay the hell out of our forum when you do it .How dare you ask such a rude question. Without GSP AO would not be the game it is. It is not the music that makes us tune in and listen it is the people playing the music. They are loyal they are devoted and they enhance an already good game to greatness. If you don't like it than stick a sock in your mouth and listen to whatever crap you want to.. THEESE ARE MY WORDS AND MY THOUGHTS SO DON'T HOLD ANYONE ELSE RESPOSNSIBLE

I don't think there's any harm with posting links to places people could look into streaming their own music... after all, there's a lot more to it that just finding the software...

Besides, I'm all for people who think "hah, I could do better than this" to look into what's needed to set up a sucessful, stable, ~legal~ stream AND be a good DJ that people actually want to keep coming back to listen to week after week after week... because they're quickly going to find it's not nearly as easy as it seems, and the reason GSP makes it look so simple is that behind it all is a lot of talent and a heck of a lot of hard work!

Also, while GSP covers a lot of ground, it can't be all things to all people - it'd fall flat if it ever tried that. Meaning there are going to be people out there who love music, are interested by the possibilities of internet radio, and would be good at it, but for whatever reason (musical tastes, personality, methodology, availability, whatever) just wouldn't be able (or want) to fit at all into the current GSP format. And if any of them were to end up creating something amazing of their own because of something they read on here, well that's brilliant.

But for future reference, starting a post on a GSP forum with "Who needs GSP?" is unlikely to make friends and influence people...

Gonna lock this thread before it gets out of control. People have their right to opinions, but lets be courteous to those who provide this place to speak as well.

Love you all and play nice :)
