Help me out with my art!

Postby Firia » Thu Aug 31, 2006 11:47 pm

Hey guys! ^_^
Wanna help me out with something?

So I've toyed with my art applications a little and I'm running a sort of poll to see which appeals to people more.
Someone told me once "hey! lay a sheen of grey over your image!" and it turned out ok. But for the life of me I can't shake it now. :? So I kind of want to see what peoples think of the differing grades.

So vote! And a little blurb on why would be most peachy. :) It helps more if I can hold on to your reasoning and though process. ;)

Ok, might be just my monitor, but for me the difference is so subtle that I almost didn't think they were different at all. Anyway, personal opinion is that I like the first one best. I tend to apreciate contrast. But the bottom one has a grittier feel. So I guess if you're going for grit, I'd go for the bottom one.

The differences are pretty subtle I agree. Having to pick one I'd say 3rd is best.

yeah, each picture is 5% darker than the previous picture. With the first picture being 0% in terms of darkness.

What's interesting, is that I'm running this question in one other forum (to maximise voting feedback), but it's color scheme is much closer to white than GSP's grey shceme.

So far, their feedback contradicts the gsp forum. :P Interesting!

Well, I dont see much of a difference in them. As part of my film exposure class, we're told that an approximate 30% change in density (either lighter or darker) is required to be perceptible to most people. So, if you're really looking for some variation in the prints, I'd recommend using more than just the 5%.
