Here's some 6 month thread necromancy for you.

Recently I have had a couple questions about how my mom is doing.

So here's the catch all update:

She's doing utterly fantastic.

She no longer has to do physical therapy. She's getting about on her own just fine. A little tired maybe, but doing well.

She was in the hospital until just before Mother's Day. She's now down to 1 appointment in Boston every 2 months.

So suffice to say, she's vibrant and healthy (for a transplant patient 6 months later) and doing absolutely wonderful.

Thank you again everyone for your support over this time :) You are family to me and have supported me wonderfully. Thank you.

So something this grand, 6 year thread necromancy would be perfectly acceptable.

It's so great to hear that she's doing so well so soon. :) I hear so much death, and the good crumbling to bad that when something bad pulls a 180 and bee lines for great, it makes me beam! :D

Awesome news Dani! :!:

*waves her thread necromancy wand*

For background information see here:

and here:

And now for the new stuff:

**UPDATE**

It's been 1 full year (to the day) since my mother's transplant.

Before my family went through this ordeal, I was very skeptical about the transplant system and how it worked. However, I always listed myself as an organ donor on my IDs.

My mother is completely healthy. Sure she's a little tired in the afternoons, but what 51 year old woman isn't?

She's on medication, of course, and is religious about it. Which is good.

Lahey Clinic considers her a miracle case. They actually have her talking to people waiting on the list for liver transplants, and patients who have had transplants but are having a hard time recovering.

She amazes me. Today is her new birthday. Her second chance at life. She amazes me every single day. She is lucky, and so am I.
