This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Statistically speaking (and from a scientific perspective), you cannot in any way link these things in the way this study is trying to. There are too many external factors to consider. It's liking linking ice cream consumption with the frequency of car accidents (because both increase in the summer time). F'in stupid. Correlation does not imply causation. Someone needs to send these f'tards to Statistics 101.

I laugh my ass off every single time one of these surveys gets released, since they all use the words "might cause". Listening to sexy music might cause young people to have sex earlier. Eating potatoes might cause you to develop cancer (the same will hot dogs, soft-drinks and bread). Carbohydrates can cause you to become fat.

Puh-lease. I have this to say:

Worrying too damn much about shit like this might, and probably WILL, cause you to stop living your life the way YOU want to live it. Which is to say: live life to the max, enjoy what you can that's not directly harmful to you. You never know. It MIGHT be outlawed tomorrow.

Most people tend to listen to music that they personally identify with. So I would say that they likely listen to this type of music BECAUSE they are engaged in the sorts of activities described within the songs.

When I read that, my first thought was... is it the music causing the urges like the experts say or the urges/hormones causing the teens to like the sex-filled music more than say... Bach? I think they're looking at thier whole study backwards.

me and my friend read this article and came to the conculsions that really the people that are more into this kind music are the ones that would have teen sex anyway. it's not so much that the music exposes them to these ideas, but that they had them anyway.

and for the record Grid, the thing is men think about sex, on average, every ten seconds.

when really boiled down, the statstics can be slanted in any way they want. you could say that teens that listen to this music have has sex, or the teens have had sex and listen to this music because they identify with it.

take what you want from this, but i am drunk, so if i wake up in the morning and correct any of this, you will all know the problem.
