So, as typical birthdays go for me, I walk outside at the appointed time to go to work.. only to hear a massive "BOOM" out of view but near my car... I figure whatever's happened has happened and hurrying won't help so I walk the extra 20 feet to get a good view of whatever catastrophe's happened this time.
I see a large section of tree on the ground, so I look up. I see a man with a chainsaw looking down at me from a newly shortened top of said tree. I walk forward another 10 feet.
I see three more men with chainsaws, and one of them is -constantly- revving his even though the other three are telling him to knock it off cause they can't talk over it. I walk forward another 5 feet.
I'm standing in the lower part of my driveway and I can now see the pinnacle of this story's somewhat ironic meandering line. There's an industrial-sized 20' x 4' or so John Deer woodchipper parked sideways in my driveway. I stop walking.
I realize I'm going to be late for work, and go off to email the boss.
I think he took it well.. or maybe he's just thinking I'm really good at making up creative excuses. "I can't come into work on time cause there's a woodchipper the size of two F-150's blocking my car."
Ah well, c'est la vie.
