I would guess because previously, you just had to grid to bor, and take the whompa.. now, it's grid to nl, enter nlc, whompa to nld, whompa to hope, whompa to stret..

it's a trek to say the least.

But this change screws over the whole community. Bor was the place to gather for all three sides cause of how easy it is to get to and was Neutral. Hell, while I sdon't like it now being 75%, I could live with that change. But making it an Omni city I really can't stand (and I am Omni on all but one character).

But in truth, should there really be a spot for all three sides to gather so easily? Isn't the whole point of the game pretty much Omni vs. Clan?

I don't feel screwed at all by the changes. Im looking forward to more, and the possibility of an all-out war between the opposing factions.

Yes the Neutral cities cause they are supposedly neutral in the Civil war that is on Rubi-Ka.

This is truly a sad day in AO for me. Boreallis has always been my 'home' city. I hang out with friend regularly there, I meet Pyromanche and other neuts there on a nightly basis to shoot the breeze.

Their so called roleplay reason for this insurgence is to protect the dish, well the omni guards aren't even near the dish. You want to protect the dish, throw a few unicorns up around the dish and place some anti-aircraft turrets around it, don't occupy a neutral city. And don't turn off the strong supression field that was protecting the dish.

You want to change a city? How bout make the ICC Forces raid Tir and take it back from the sentinels so that it is safe for neuts again, or at least the Vanguard.

I'm just going to stay out of this discussion. There's a reason "Braedon" disappeared from the RP scene, and this hits too close to home on the reason why. It's great to see a game-related thread be so hot on the GSP forums again, but I question this being the wisest way to acheive that.
I may be retired, but I'm GridStream for life.

Good gawd. I've heard this from people after every single major update. Every one. And yet, AO's still here. It's still kickin. It's still fun. And it's still, of course... just a game.

Change is good people. Whether you agree with this specific Omni-takes-Bor move or not, it's something different. I, for one, sure as hell wouldn't prefer things to always stay "as is". It gets boring as hell. Even if I don't agree with a change, I'm happy to see it. It forces me to get more creative, to look at things differently. To do something different. Like it or not, that's a positive thing.

I'm a little upset that it doesn't seem that there is a way for me to get to my apartment to get my stuff out of it. Aside from the nostalgic value of Borealis because it was the first city I explored as a newbie, and represented all of RubiKa that I knew when I was a wee tyke, I'm not too bothered by it.

As far as storyline goes, Neutrals don't command enough territory to justify one of the largest and most well connected cities. It doesn't make sense. Borealis is a hub of activity, whoompahs to Jobe and other areas, shopping and the grid, in a single location. To think that both sides of the war wouldn't fight to command this type of territory and take it from the neutrals who wouldn't defend it is ridiculous.

Welcome to the war.
