FF7: Advent Children

Postby Firia » Wed Apr 26, 2006 9:25 am

So, its been finally released in the US and Europe, as of today. :P I was starting to doubt this day would ever come, but, *Sniff!* It did! And it was wonderful! :P

CGI Anime rawk hard! :o
Now I'm gonna go try and find myself A copy of the ol' game on BitTorrent. (I have the Game packed away in storage, but I don't want to dig it out on top of a memory card.)

Of course, now, after watching it in both Sub and Dub, (Had to see how the english voice acting was, and it wasn't to shabby. :P ) I need more content. I'm like a beast that can't be sated and will consume all FF7 content like a black hole! So of course, now, I can't wait for Before Crisis and Crisis Core. :P And all that good jazz.

Not a thing, it's complete straight through, and you can switch it to original track w/subtitles too. But I have to admit, the english voice acting is REALLY good. I actually prefer the dubbed now. (primarily because it makes a TON more sense now hehe)

Best buy has been selling little Sony ones for like $25 bucks. It's pretty much barebones, nothing to fancy but hey for that cheap its nice. Its really compact too.

Oh, heh, yeah I'd never seen the original release of AC. I'd been being a good girl and waiting for its release here. :P I'd been a good (bad?) lil pirate and didn't go snake it from the net. ^_^

It was worth the wait. :o We had a movie night on the biggests TV in my circle of friends (Choices between HD MASSIVE screen projection, and a Plasma that had to be at least 4 feet + wide), and watched it over popcorn and other fantastic snackables. :P

I watched it under both Sub and Dub... *COUGH* in the same night. And I've got to say that while the English Dub is pretty decent, the Japanese Sub is still better. ^_^ I'm not even one of those fanatics that believe anime should be watched in the original language format. I'll give english dubs a chance (eg, Ghost in the Shell or Cowboy Bebop), and if they're quality, I often prefer them! But Advent Children was far better in its Japanese sub.

Oh well; each to their own. :P

I've noticed a few ads for Bartell Drugs will have similar offers for just as cheap. I'm sure Walmart or K-mart (S-mart!!) or what have you, will sell their own versions of the $25 dvd player.

And there is always online purchases. ;)

Ok, so, I need someone more knowledgeable than me to help me out on something here.

The Advent Peices release in japan included a 25 minute anime, Last Order. It highlighted Zack and his relationship with Cloud as a war buddy. Now, I hear tell that there is another anime that goes along with Last Order, but I dunno what that could be. Before Crisis? I thought that was the Cell Phone game. And Dirge of Cerberus is the Vincent game. I can't even find american referances to a Last Order in line for release, but the ff7 related media previews on the dvd showed scenes of Last Order, aaand this other Anime I mentioned.

Anyone want to shine some light on this for me? :-D I've been keeping to many tabs on the japanese take on this series to really focus on the american releases. :P

I have one word:

AhhmahgawdthatwastotallyfreakinawesomegladIgottoseeitbymyselfcan'twaittilMivgetsheretowatchitwithhimyay!

And in a few more words:

Yes, the movie absolutely freakin rocked. I was insanely impressed. The...yeah. Ok, let me wipe the "oh my god happy" drool from my keyboard.

It was well worth the wait for me. Oi. I'm gonna watch it again tonight I think.

Yeah I think I need to watch it again real soon as well.

FYI, I've been told by a couple people (whom would know) that the english voice for Cloud is the same guy who's done Cloud before in whatever other game/feature that they needed an english dub for. I really like the voice. It took a few lines for me to buy it, but it sold me in the end, he's good.

My ONLY gripe with the movie -- and it's hardly a gripe, technically -- is that the fight with the summon is TOO good. After that I still enjoyed the movie, but it felt like the final climactic scene had already finished and the rest of it was tying up loose ends.

I did like the end fight, but nothing compared to the superjump scene when Cloud takes the summon head-on. That had me falling off the couch with excitement. :P

Kingdom Hearts 2. :P

I'm such a sap for anything ff7 related, that I will buy anything sporting its characters. This is not a good thing... but it feels good so I don't fight it.
