Need help with DVD burning! >_<

Postby Ichyro » Sun Apr 16, 2006 4:59 am

I recently bought a Lite-on DVD Drive, for the purpose of burning any number of file's onto DVD rather than CD for backup and transfer, but it seems like most programs are geared to burning video files on DVD.

Now, I know you can put other files on a DVD, since that's what a lot of games are doing. Does anyone know a good program to do that? To burn Images, music, word files and other such things on a DVD?

Oh man, my responce is going to be two short of useful I'm afraid. I don't have any websites you can go to where you can search for dvd burning programs (you try googling that? :P ), but there are some names that come to mind. Try going to... uh, Two Cows to grab some freebie programs. I'm sure you can do a search on dvd burning probs.

There was another site that I got one of my media players off of, but it eludes me right now.

Ok, so, Two (tocows?) Cows may be the right step. So this isn't nearly as useless as just shy of useful. :)

i use a burning program called Record now MAX. Its an awesome programme that does everything and is pretty easy to use. Its pretty easy to find the trial version for you to try it out and see if you like it or not.

I use Nero 6. Easy to use, and bad burns are very rare. :D

That's just their marketing hype for Nero 7, which has alot of new stuff - video editing and whatnot - beyond the basic burning app.

Here's the page for Nero 6, the old unbloated version.

EDIT. Here is the buried download page for Nero 6. If you don't put in a serial, it should act as a trial, unless they actually bothered to remove it since 7 is out now. Be sure to uncheck the Yahoo! Toolbar before downloading.
