I typically avoid that fate by not attacking, thus not appearing on the list at all. ;)

If they add you in you still show up, just at the bottom of the list... with no damage.

I rarely use it myself because I don't really get into the e-penis measuring game maybe partially because I know I'll rate lower on the damage list with most anyone I team with. For 1 they are usually higher level than me, for another they are often slightly better top damage proffs than me, and for third I don't have uber guns so I don't get uber Engi damage.

I like the tool in essence though. I mean if you are in a team in Adonis and some Crat is doing the xp totem shtick and not even trying to do all the damage he can he deserves to be shown his numbers and booted from the team. Also it can be fun to truly see if you can outdamage somebody who wouldn't expect you to. I never am in danger of anyone kicking me from a team for it pretty much though as I generally team with people I know and they know I do enough other things besides just adding damage while I'm in the team that they might cut me a bit of slack not to mention usually all of them are guildies anyway.

Oh and most pet proffs out there into this always name their pets the same name as themselves because lazy people using the DD program don't add in your bot's names. My bot's are named Mot's Bot & Sparky though, not Boinky.

sometimes Sparky & Trodgor the Burninator actually

Hmm, well, DD is ok for kicks, but sucks when people live by it as stated. It's especially stupid when Doc's start spamming it (It can be altered to measure points healed).

They then start over healing, using full heals on 10% damaged players, simply to rank top...

And what's wrong with toons? Meh, any word for alt, main, something-you-play-while-you-wait-for-that-movie-to-download is ok by me. Just can't seem to get pissed off anymore over the little things. If people are idiots, then yeah, sure... But life's just too damn short to get annoyed at every minor thing...

I'm frunk as duck right now, and for some reason, this has left me in some sort of serious mood, without my usual sarcastic egde... Sorry about that, I promise it wont happen again any time soon...

A damage dumper is a tool. It can be used properly or it can be abused. In some situations (i.e. a large scale raid) it can be used to see who's carrying thier weight healing- and damage-wise.

However, I can't imagine a single non-mercs situation in AO that would require use of a damage dumper, though. Missions and hecklers are so mind-numbingly easy... and so so SO boring... that kicking people from groups based on a damage dumper is just retarded.

Ya know....I was thinking about the whole using DD on solo missions to gauge your damage....It don't matter if you are using a lvl 1 gun or a lvl 300 hammer to do damage, you are still going to end up doing the same amount regardless. If it takes you 20 mins to do 5000 points of damage with that lvl 1 or 3 seconds to do 3000 points of damage with that hammer, it's still the same amount of damage. So it's really not telling you a damn thing. The only thing DD is good for is when you are in a team and you are testing out weapons, that way you aren't doing all the damage and your damage numbers can go up and down. Does that make sense to anyone else?

DD can also tell you how much damage you do per minute. So it is useful to determine the "best" weapon. Because lets face it, a super slow weapon with extremely nice damage vs a weapon thats faster, but a bit less damage. The only way at that point to tell (just based on overall damage) is dam/min. Which DD can tell you if you run it for a period of time. It also can calculate the amount of crits, specials damage, etc. So its a nice little tool if you are using to to try to figure out how to improve yourself. If you use it to try to measure your e-peen, you can rip that useless thing off, and shove it up your *** and spin for all I care.

Well personally I dont care for it when Busty is in a team of strangers who dont really know she is thier for the party she seems to be ridiculed because they think she should be doing more damage at level 200. Hell she made it to 200 hitching rides from admirers and haveing fun not by implants or mesureing damage and it was a hell of a ride too.. If I cant have fun and enjoy the game.. chat a bit and dance a bit than killing is no fun at all its just hard work.. so when I team with friends its a blast and we all level and enjoy it much more no one worries about who did the most damage we just watch each others back and try and keep each other alive and well
