Has anyone heard of this? http://www.project-entropia.com/ Apparently its a MMO with a vibrant economy and even an option to turn your in game cash into real cash. I'm pretty sure there is a game under there somewhere.

The real reason I brought this up is because I find that the game looks alot like AO in the art style. Does anyone else see this.

I used to play it all the time a couple years ago. Last year I cashed out for $300 (NOTE: I've put at least that much into the game over the couple years prior, so no, I didn't earn money and don't know any non-land owner who ever has). I have around a couple hundred PED still on my av and a couple rare older items.

Last year someone bought one of the islands in PE for something like $25,000 US cash.

the thing about games like that is that you have to have a real sound buisness model - and it takes a lot of hard work, to get back what you put in, or to made a real significant income.

If you even out, your great, if you don't, well...

Is it hard to own land. What do you have to do to get it.

You have to have at least a few thousand US dollars and a shitload of time to camp the auctions when an island goes up for sale. For small patches of land like houses and tiny plots, a few hundred US dollars and a few hours a day to camp auctions. But those won't earn you money, you just have to pay every month for them.

The only way to earn money is to quit your day job, spend AT LEAST 8 hours a day in the game, invest a lot, be insanely lucky, know how to scam people out of their money, have zero scruples, and no friends.

Or have an extra 25 grand to buy an island so you can charge tax for other people to hunt and mine on it.

In both scenarios, the actual payback will still be less than a couple US dollars an hour on the average.

Best bet: Keep your day job, don't fall into the trap of actually thinking a companies going to design a game that you can scam them into paying you to play it, and just play the game to have fun, knowing that you will pay money to do so. There is no trick to that. :)

yes, you have to pay to play it.
if you cnat make any real cash deposits to get you game money and item, pretty much all you can do is sweating, means running away from mobs and gathering sometign from them, gets realy boring after an hour.
