Game Question..

Postby Aarric » Sun Apr 02, 2006 8:20 pm

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but pretty much everyone I know in AO is a part of or has something to do with GSP.. I have started a new character, just reached level 20, I am trying a nanomage for the first time and using pistols, multi-weilded. Was wondering if anyone had any tips, ideas what would be the best pistols/where to find some good ones...
Thanks for your time!!

BBI Faithful will take you up pretty high, You can buy them in trader shops pretty cheap. The best pistols would always be AI pistols. But if your a froob ( you didnt say ) BBI and about the best. Slow attack high dmgs. Theres some good pistols at the foremens that drop at the guy way up the long stair case. I think its a 20% drop rate 20% chance to spawn every 20 mins.

I quit AO at 213 pretty long ago so I really dont remember everything.

I found this thread
http://forums.anarchy-online.com/showth ... p?t=235850
on the AO forums to be quite helpful when I tinkered around with an NT.

But as has been said, NT's (for the most part) dont really shoot that much - they rely on nukes, pistols are there to boost the ability to cast more often than not!

As soon as humanly (nanomagely?) possible, get the cyberdeck. I think you can use the first one at L50, but don't quote me on that, never played an NT past 20ish and I was a froob at the time. All you need to do to get one is hand in your specialization books. :)

After that... reset your weapon skills and nuke away, baybee!

I wont start preaching and all that. NT's are God's, no doubt... But it's a hard road bro'. They're rather... Uhm, broken...

They're fun to try, but fact is, the second you hit 50, you're using the deck. You'd be nerfing yourself not doing it.
And as an NT, hp is a pain. Rolling Nano-Mage might further gimp this. From a twinkers point of view, I'd probably go Solitus. But ok, we aren't talking power gaming. Magi are just so fragile, and NT's too... Combine both, and you've got a buss pass to the reclaim terminal.

Still, I'd not waste IP on pistols just yet. End game maybe, if you alter the starter pistol with the hacking tool. NT only, rather nice at end game. But for the most part, untill you can cast your nano's without the glove, you'll be using the deck. So don't focus on weapons.

And don't use Symb's. NT main skill is Mat-Cre, so normal imps are better where you can get a Mat-Cre cluster.

My Nt's set up for kiting tho'. So she's all about speed and big AoE's. Not for ingots, but because it's the ultimate rush!

Just my 2c.

Well I just hit level 30 and I just finished my first Specilization and got the deck, which yes have to be at least 50. As far as the other stuff, yes I have learned that being a NM,NT is a pretty fragile thing but luckily I am not really doing much soloing, I play with Sararie, we both started new characters, she is an adventurer. So how it works is that I usually pull the target, she gets aggro and i get to stand back and unload, on the rare times she cant pull the aggro she can easily keep me healed. And so far I have had lots of fun with the double pistols!!. Also just wanted to put out there I have only played for about 6 months prior to this and have a enforcer (90), shade (43), mp (40), martial artist (33) and an adventerur (83), so there is a lot I still have to learn about this game!!
