S.O.S. -- my company just told us all they're closing the doors for good effective immediately. I'm out of a job as of 30 minutes ago with no warning whatsoever.

Since finding work is all about networking... if you know anyone looking for a graphic designer / web developer, or know anyone at a company that does that sort of thing in either Chicago or Detroit, any references or contacts you can flip my way would be greatly appreciated.

I grew up in northern Michigan and spent more time outside in the winter than I did in the summer. When I get to the point where I finally say "Hm, ya know, I feel a little cold", everyone else around me has already frozen to death. I actually like Maine quite a bit.
