It's good, but it was rushed, and like with all rushed games, it has its flaws.

it was also done by a different company that just bought the name.

if you can spot it in a bargin bin, it's probably worth picking up.

Obsidian Entertainment, was founded by five people: Feargus Urquhart, Chris Parker, Darren Monahan, Chris Avellone, and Chris Jones, which have all worked on some of the best RPGs created to date. KoToR2 was Obsidian Entertainment's first game, which was licensed through LucasArts and the engine was licensed from BioWare. The game was rushed out by LucasArts, which is obvious when you play it. There are many things that were left out due to it being rushed, which only happened because LA had a set date for the game to come out and if they didn't make it then LA wasn't going to pay Obsidian Entertainment. It's still a good game, but it does have its flaws.

I honestly found KOTOR II to be more compelling, story-wise, than the first KOTOR.

However, while the content of the II is actually more fluid, in my opinion, and that there is more of it, the game is a big buggier than the first. You CAN feel the slight "rush", as said, already.

But it's worth the play time, definitely.

They both rock...ending of 2 sucked, but check out the project the community is doing to restore what Obsidian had in mind.

Story wise it kicks massive arse! The fact that they play around with good and evil alone made sure I played it, and the fact that they did it so well, means I played it more than once.

It's a must-play if you liked the first... Yes, it's bugged, but you know what? Many games are. Atmosphere can often carry a game all the way, and leave you with nothing but fond memories. This is one such case.
Oddworld games are another such example. Medicore gameplay, but fantastic atmosphere everytime! (And the observant forum dweller would have guess I liked these games by now hehe)
