I use www.allofmp3.com.

It is a pay site, but I think I paid $10 (US) for like 200 songs. And they've got nearly everything there.

Heh I use that one as well. I do wonder just how legal they actually are though. I think something about their location, laws over there combined with international law might explain it but not sure.

http://www.emusic.com/ For the obscure, or the "non-commercial" independent groups/artist.

Itunes with jhyme for the normal every day tunes. (jhyme cleans the DRM tech from songs and changes the format to mp3)

Danyoo are their songs on that site you provided true mp3s? Or are they of "their" format like all the other normal pay sites use?

Nope, I get actual mp3s. Not their "format."

Meenstreek actually introduced me to the site. You can even download music there as OGG files if you want. But yea, you can even choose the quality of the mp3. Decent site.

Hmm eMusic, like as they have Korpliklaani ( don't ask ), only problem is Credit card only and have a distinct aversion to CC's as still paying one off.

Think I might give the Allofmp3 one a go, just slightly wary about the legallity of it and also it won't accept paypal payments at the moment...

You could get a pre-paid one. That way you never spend more than you can afford to spend.

That is what I do Nicodar. I have a seperate account for "fun" which I pull my MMO and Music from. Now I know not everyone can do that, but you can always go get an account with a visa/mc debit card with it and only put in a certain amount in it. Course, self disipline is a must....which I loose when ever I feel the urge to update my mp3 collection.

Update - Well having investimagated a bit further, and laughed my butt off along the way, would appear that AoM is indeed legit.

Plus found a way to pay via Pay Pal even if the paypal option is unavailable. Hence pay day next month I may be dumping a few pounds into it, to get some of the stuff that it is hard as heck to get unless you pay extortionate ammounts for it.

(note when I say extortionate ammounts I mean £16-17 for a cd which is reasonably old say)

Edit: oh and they also have Korpliklaani :D

I love you for that post.
I found a song I lost when I reformatted and haven't been able to get back and I found it on that site but didn't know how legit it was. I'll go ahead and give it a try now, thanks Dany!
