Do you want to see the world burn?

Postby Doc Thunder » Tue Nov 13, 2012 11:47 pm

Do you get urges of maniacal cackling in Tm Hortons as Greenland frantically shut down the last working hospital on Earth?

Do you have that moment in life when you want to see everything burn?

Well this little flash game might just be for you!!!!!

Pandemic II

this is so fricking fun. My favorite book for a long time was a book called "Killer Germs"... was so interesting to read about a bunch of pandemics.

I wish it had the name of your disease when you completed the game, it would have made a great screen shot "STUPID PEOPLE have wiped out the human race" I also made a parasite called Christians, and a bacteria called People on Facebook. Good times!

i found that removing symptoms until everyone is infected works well, dunno if that's working as intended or borderline exploit.

I am going to go ahead and assume my ability to beat it the first time is indicative that I would make an amazing super villain.

Pretty safe assumption! Which type of organism did you choose?

I went parasite, actually.

Strange, I wasn't able to re-create the situation where I won. Madagascar is very hard to infect. The longer you keep the mass panic of a new disease spreading (making it less noticeable), the more likely it is to be infected. Also, it seems to kinda be random based on shipping routes. It also seems like the origin of the disease does have an effect - just have to alter your strategy to win.

Joaquin won using a parasite too. You're exactly right, it needs to be quite low visibility so people don't realize it's happening and you are really at the mercy of where the game chooses for you to begin with respect to infecting Madagascar (or Cuba, etc) before they shut down the shipping routes :)

28 days later .... 1,930,043,747 dead

I'm sure someone can do better. That was in one try. Don't have time for more right now, but its a start. :)

My first (and so far, only) attempt:

Using a virus, starting out in New Zealand.
Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Madagascar, South Africa, Most of South America (not Brazil) and Cuba avoided infection. The rest of the world (about 90% of the population) died within 4 months...

You too? Japan got me too, I had it all under control all the world wiped out and then the darn Japan sealed itself off. And it was no way to get in.

And now last time I played it was Australia doing the exact same thing, darn island people!

That's where I am too. If it's not one then it's the other. But at least that makes sense as oppossed to the couple times where my hold-out was Peru. I didn't quite get that when the whole rest of South America was infected. It's not like Peru exists under a dome.

One time I had the US close off from Mexico. I couldn't help but laugh at that one. If a world ending sickness hit Mexico IRL the US is screwed.
