You need to first host the image somewhere. www.photobucket.com Is good for that.

Then grab the IMG URL that they format for you, and in your profile there is an option to enter your signature. Just copy the IMG link there, and it should appear.

Yes, it is really big. About half that size would be fine I think.

Don't let your sig pic be larger than 5 lines is a good guideline, I believe.

Even that is still really too large though. Adri, if you want, I can make you a custom signature :)

Truer words were never spoken!
This includes writing. It simply reduces the scrolling of reading. It's a pain when 40% of your scrolls are due to sig's... They're nice and all... but...

Adriana, please disable your sig untill you have it fixed at no bigger than 2" hight... Loading that monstrocity takes forever on a low connection comp. Most have nice comps, but I'm backpacking so I gotta take what I can get, and I don't wanna not be able to log in because of that.

Nothing personal luv', but that thing has to die...

I still want avatars... And if people post a picture for people to see, I'll see it. But we've had these sig discussions a million times...

A sig should never exceed this measurement...

It's a signature... Something you sign off with... It shouldn't take up 85% of your total post space. It's like signing a document with your name. You don't write:
Mark, son of Ted, born december 14th 1842 on a cold and windy morning bla bla bla...

You just sign it: Mark.
I'm not saying not to make a sig... But think about it. If nothing else, then for the other forum goers sake.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not upset with you, or anyone else. I'm not berating, but this needs to be said, and it seems no one else will.
There are many ways to fit in. Funny posts, interesting views, or intellectual topics... It doesn't have to be a 7-foot sig. But it's the option everyone opts for.
Sig's are there for attention. We display something we define as ourselves. Or at least the side we'd like others to see. Well, people will think what they will of you, regardless of your sig. Let them see you through your posts, not a billboard... You're part of the GSP forums now, and we look after each other. There's no need to stand out, as the beauty of GSP, is that they stand together.

So please... rescale that sig... And that goes for everyone else too.
Thank you for your time.

Oh I agree whole heartedly the opera suggestion was more if ya wanted to go for pure speed on a lower connection or browsing at work... after all this is the internet you have that freedom of choice :), tho I'd add, where possible, trying to keep not only the dimension sizes down but also the file size as well to aid those of a lowbie status connection wise ;)...

i.e. if it's a static image see if it looks ok as a Jpg/gif and use the smaller of the two ;)
