We are missing some genres

Postby brudus_maximus » Wed Nov 02, 2005 11:07 pm

I'm sad to see the two DJs who played country and classic rock not on the air anymore. I'm sorry, i'm not being mean i'm just horrible remembering names. I know one of them was n atrox :P

My musical tastes are all across the board. I can listen to just about anything. When I say country music i say the country music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. todays country music is totally bleh.

That would be Suue and Tzaphiel (classic rock and country respectively). Unfortunately, things happen that are out of our control...which was the case with Suue and Tza. There's certainly nothing saying that one or both might not be able to come back, or that we won't hire other DJ's that might play those genres down the road. ;)

Actually, you might try Narcotic for some country. I think I've heard some on her shows. True classic rock? I'm not sure if any of our DJ's currently are able to cover it too well. I can definitely do 80's-90's rock/hairmetal...but, true classic rock isn't really my bag.

I play true classic rock on my Wednesday afternoon shows with alarming regularity.

And yes, we do have genres that aren't covered. We don't have a polka and bagpipe DJ, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Polka is my favorite type of music! The only way it could get any better is if it was played on bagpipes!

I believe we have one or two vocal band's who don't get enough coverage either. What you say Veld', isn't that just your thing?
We could do a theme vocal band night... Everyone could dress up as penguins! ^^

Hmm, i know some local dudes playing an norwegian flute who sounds somewhat as an bagpipe, and 3 of them reminds of bagpipe music, only it sounds more fake. Maybe i should come playing norwegian folk music

play some dropkick murphy's since they use bagpipes in nearly all their songs and they are all good drinking songs :D

I think the only Country I ever see played is some Johnny Cash, Boy Named Sue and Sam Hall are the ones I remember hearing the most, should throw in Hurt, an awesome cover, and Personal Jesus just for kicks.

No, no... what GSP really needs is things like J-pop, visual kei etc... a bit of Gackt, a bit of L'Arc en Ciel, all that good stuff.

Oh, and David Hasselhoff. Germans LOVE David Hasselhoff.

(But he sucked as Nick Fury.)
