Quick question Re time...

Postby Lykeios » Thu Oct 27, 2005 4:37 pm

... ok nice and simple this one. Obviously this weekend for us brits and a various other clocks go back an hour switching from BST-GMT, are the shows going to change time as well or stay at the same time and therefore be earlier...

example. Veldron - State of Delerium will be on Midnight (UTC) or 1am BST, so from next week will it mean his show starts at Midnight my time?

The time of shows will change only if your country/state does NOT observe daylight savings time. If you turn your clocks back one hour every fall, then the show will remain at the time to which you are accustomed.

However, if you live in Arizona, or any other state/country that does NOT turn clocks back in the fall, then your show schedule will change. When in doubt, visit the calendar on our main site, and set up your time zone preference in your profile, and that will insure that you catch the shows you don't want to miss!

We primarily base all our shows on EST/EDT (Eastern time), and that time also changes on the last sunday in October (at least until the DST end-time moves to November in 2007). So we will be changing by 1 hour on all shows. Veldron's SoD, on your example, will switch from 8pm EDT tonight to 8pm EST (one hour earlier) next Thursday.

EDIT: Foxy's descriptions a little easier, thank you, hehe.

SUMMARY: If your area observes the daylight savings time change, an 8pm show will stay at 8pm for you. If your area does not observe any time change, then all shows will air one hour earlier, starting this Sunday.

and h0000t for our time zone thingie on the front page at gridstream.org!! Set it correctly to your time zone, and it'll always be right on the mark for you. :)

Yep, the calendar on the GSP website is DST sentient and will display the event correctly given that you select the correct timezone you live in :)
