Titles Displayed In Winamp

Postby Innari » Sat Oct 01, 2005 8:01 pm

Ok, question for you winamp/mp3 techies.

I've got some music (ok...a lot of music) that when displayed in Winamp, only displays the title of the song, not the artist.

Is there a way to modify that so I can have it display the artist as well?

Check the id3 tags first, make sure there is an artist listed.. More to come after I look at winamp. lol

Edit: In winamp prefs.. Under Titles, turn on Advanced Title Formatting, and use this string

Code: Select all
[%artist% - ]$if2(%title%,$filepart(%filename%))
If it's not already on mind you.

more looking to be had...

Click on any song, Hold Alt Press 3. Or right click it and click View Track Info

Either one

See, I'm a nut, and I use a program like MusicMatch or Helium2 to help me with my organization... once again though I am crazy.

Now that I can do this...I'm stupidly particular.

I am actually going through and capitalizing all the tracks appropriately.

D'oh. I'm a perfectionist.

I started to have them perfect and then got tired, but they should all be labeled correctly

I use a program called TigoTago, that allows me to edit all of my mp3s at once, in a database style format, and also to capitalize all of them exactly the way I want to (you can select your entire music collection and choose "Capitalize All, Capitalize first word, or capitalize none") It's free, and wonderfully easy to use. You can also grab id3 tags from titles, and vice versa.
