As you can seein this thread, it looks like I'm going to be out of commision until tomorrow sometime. So I'll be there in spirit tonignt and probably on AORC. Hopefully I'll be back in full muffiny goodness by tomorrow night.

Edit: In case you're curious to know what happened:

1. Yesterday on primary account, immediately following patch I was walking around OA to see how my old home was looking. While there I ran across the Finest Edition shop. It made me remember that I'm still uncertain as to where to buy Captain Sugar Free Rum, so I figured I would check in there. However, I crashed at the door and have not been able to log on with Vallikat since.

2. Today, after several attempts with Vallikat and no luck, I decided to try my froob account. Got logged in just fine so, like a dope, I figured I'd take her to that Finest Edition (still trying to get my hands on that rum, don't you know). Only, I crashed at the door and have not been able to log on with my froob since.

All other characters work fine, just so long as they don't go near that store.

In the meantime I have hatched an evil plan to lure folks into said shop to complete my ultimate plan of world domination Mwuahahahahahahahahahaahaaaaaaaaaa.........

I have alerted Funcom as to the problem and have provided them with a bug report. Hopefully they'll get it fixed before too long. However, I realize that so soon after patch, with all the other issues they have to deal with, I'm probably not going to be on the top of the priority list.

Thing is, for all I know this could've been a problem for me for a long time. I couldn't even tell you the last time I even tried walking into that shop.

And Boinky, I thought your ultimate plan involved a goat?

Well, Vallikat, i never really met you at any of the parties, but i've seen you, and someone told me once that I would look good with muffins too. But even though i dont really know you, it'll be a shame to not see you and your flaming muffin hands on the dance floor. Hope you get back soon!

Well my thought is that it must be something wrong with my system. I figure it's a shop. People are bound to walk into it. So if it was something that was happening to everyone who walked in, there would be a lot of other people complaining. As it is, I'm being told that by Enno that he wants to run it through the debugger and try to recreate it. So that's more evidence that it's an isolated issue.

The idea of this shop being a Bermuda Triangle and luring the unsuspecting into it is funny in an evil sort of way. However, out of respect to already overworked ARKs and FC staff, I think it best just to leave that as an evil fantasy.

I was asked to hold off on that until they can try and test it out tomorrow. If I don't hear anything, that is exactly what I'm going to do.

Also, petentining it only gets me out of the door, it doesn't fix the problem for the long term. I'd rather wait and see if it can't be fixed. That way I won't have to just avoid that door for all eternity.

Ok, I was informed by Funcom that they cannot reproduce this issue and that they were able to log both characters on with no problem. They asked that I just try again.

Ok, so I try again, and crash again. Try another alt. This time with the express purpose of taking her to the aforementioned shop and see if she crashes so that I have a further bug report (with hopefully further information) to send their way. Of course, el crashio.

Question: Should I now petetion the crash loop on all affected alts and just avoid that shop like the plague or should I reinstall and hope that corrects whatever issue exists?

Question 2: After all this trouble, can someone tell me if that is the correct place to purchase Captain Sugar-Free Rum?

Answer 1: I'd say try petitioning the issue first and if that doesn't work try the reinstall.

Answer 2: I have no clue, and am wary of going in to check after your track record entering that shop

Suggestion 3: If you get yourselves free, might I suggest one of the many thriving Neutral businesses spread across our fine planet? Maybe Ergo even likes to have some rum close by so he stocked a Yuttos with it.

That particular rum? I won't accept anything less (afterall, the muffin is sweet enough without adding any sugar)

Will I have to kill the Yuttos to get him to give it up? Because if so, I'm screwed. I need this on rk2 where I believe I'm level 3. Of course, I'm also free to roam the planet on rk2.

I'm guessing that the problem is in your video card and/or it's currently running drivers. If FC couldn't reproduce it, then it's probably something inside the particular store (a texture or a polygon) that causes your vidcard to flip out.

Double-check that you have latest drivers installed, and if you do, just avoid that store altogether from here on in. :/
