Greenies & RP

Postby Boinky » Wed Jun 22, 2005 4:12 pm

Last night while standing at The Wilds of Belial Forest I happened to notice somebody with a green name pass by. And not the standard greenie mind you. It was a three word green name "Some Strange Guy" (I forget the last name) . I was curious as he was just casually walking through The Wilds of Belial Forest . So I decided to investigate. OK I followed him. I dilligently hit my Backspace key as to not run around following him - stalkers tip for any of you out there, stalkers have to seem casual :wink:

So I keep following him, stopping to examine a pebble I was after when he stops to show I'm not following him. He finally enters The Wilds of Belial Forest Tree-Fort across from the The Wilds of Belial Forest entrance. I enter shortly after to find him just inside, so I walk further in to again show I'm here on some urgent business & am in no way following him. I stop near one of the The Wilds of Belial Forest Tree-Forts to demonstrate this is what I'm after.

So now he walks up to me and asks if I'm following him. I basically cop to that, and we start to converse. As it turns out he is a refugee of sorts from the Camelot who's fled due to apparent problems with his life there due to the conflict on Rubi-Ka. He seemed very troubled and informed me of his fears that The Easter Bunny has sent assassins looking for him, and when he saw me following him he feared the worst. I of course chuckled at being mistaken for a cold-blooded assassin and assured him he had nothing to fear from me. I also suggested hiding out in The Wilds of Belial Forest might be a good thing, and should he need assistance the fine upstanding Evil residents of The Wilds of Belial Forest would come to his aide.

All in all a fine night's encounter. :D

::edit:: fixed factual errors :wink:

Yay! It makes me extremely happy to hear this Boinky. I mean not that the poor guy is being hunted by Omni assasins. I mean that I haven't heard of a greenie encounter like this for some time now. I hope this is a sign of things to come. :) Vallikat might even leave Reets Retreat sometimes if things are happening on the outside. :)

I'm very curious. Who might have been at the wheel of this char? Anyone I already know from FC or somebody I'm not familiar with yet. Was this a test balloon? Something to see if a greenie walking through Bor would draw any attention or get anybody to interact with them? While I would hope most around noticed him as he went by, I didn't notice anyone take any action. I'm one of the folks who signed up for their Event Participation they mentioned recently, so maybe this is a sign of them starting to prepare for events. If Omni-Tek assassins do come for him I hope I am nearby to lend assistance when they arrive. :evil:

I believe they are supposed to be regular in game for years now, I have seen one only twice so far, one in bor (rk2) and simon during (before he chased me out) a cot meeting on rk1.

http://forums.anarchy-online.com/showth ... p?t=374166
says:
"And last but certainly not least, get involved with the story in game!!

Not only do we have in game events that are interactive where players can be a part of, and in a lot of cases affect the outcome of stories, but we have returning characters that you can get to know, who play larger roles in the main story and side stories. You will be able to know them by the full name being shown in green above them, and because of their unusual tendency to walk instead of run."

what I could figure out so far about who runs them:

Since this is OOC I shall disclose a bit of info.

It is a character involved in a RP thing for the Omni-BoD I believe. Several Orgs involved are on the look out for this character I believe.

These types of occurances if I am to understand things, may become a regular occurance. As I said, IC wise you are either in a whole heap of trouble or could be very very rich, depending on how you use the IC information :twisted:
