gsp disclaimer

Postby Mummu » Tue Jun 14, 2005 9:02 am

did you notice, that if you are a little bored at work, or just cant get on with your task, you recall teh weirdet things?
well to my mind came the following:
there is that nice disclaimer on gsp, where Tarryk says that the game is rated 18 as is the stream. And well the game is rated 13 (or 12 in germany)....
Or do I just remember something wrong?

/me scuffels of mumbling something like, so where is that frelling pixel coming from now....

Germany and the US/Canada are slightly different ;-)

In the US it's rated for ages 18+. Also in the EULA it states

1. Accounts are available only to adults or, in their discretion, their minor children. If you are a minor, your parent(s) or guardian(s) must complete the registration process, in which case they will take full responsibility for all obligations under this Agreement. By clicking the "I Accept" button and providing us with a credit card number, you represent that you are an adult and are either accepting this Agreement on behalf of yourself or your child.

In the US, You're a minor until the age of 18 (The age you can join the Army IIRC).

In Canada you're a Minor until the age of 19 (Legal Drinking, Smoking, Gambling Age)

hmm right, the account is for legal persons only. forgot that one.
But I was refering to those anyways:

http://www.anarchy-online.de/dnw/index.shtml bottom left: usk 12

http://tinyurl.com/998oz ESRB Rating: teen (13)

https://funcom.asknet.com/icons/funcoms ... sic_bg.gif right bottom: teen

http://hosting1.media-e.com/product-ima ... 08001m.jpg usk 12

I guess, the rating of the game and the legal means to subscribe to an online service are 2 seperated things here. wich makes sense actually.

AO is rated as a Teen game here in the U.S.

And in the disclaimer you're speaking of, I don't say that the game is rated 18. I say that GSP is. :)

Mixin' up your memories, m'friend. :)

"GSP is made by AO players, for AO players. As such, do not expect us to be censored. GSP is adult rated for 18 blah blah blah..."

Basically saying the game company doesn't command what we do, therefore we choose to remain an adult-rated stream for language. Although we DO try to curb that language as often as possible. We're just covering our butts. :)

I think Mu's remembering Epi and Vulgarbot's disclaimer.. which is quite outdated and may only get played once in a blue moon. :)
