Just when you thought people could not get more idiotic....

Postby Maephina » Thu Mar 31, 2005 10:48 pm

Ya know...there are those gamers out there who buy, sell and trade items and gear all night and all day long with no repurcussion to their activities.
Then there are those maggots in the gaming world who love to take an inexperienced and "overly-nice"/naive gamer for all their worth, "borrowing" items then running to the hills.

This is a cautionary tale for those A-holes who like to loot and run...

Never underestimate the human capacity for idiocy. After all, we ARE the most idiotic animal species on this hunk of rock.

Hm. Why does this surprise anybody? For one, it's in communist China. For two, it's in communist China, and for three, it's in Communist China.

I've never even played a game where I can stab somebody to death with a sword....I wasnt aware those games existed, BUT I wouldnt mind stabbing a few people in the chest, but I don't.

I vote for stabbing people in the chest for REAL reasons, not virtuial ones.

This could have happened everywhere in the world, although I have to admit that it seems to be more common in some of the asiatic countries.

Here in norway there has been some seriously ugly incidents similar to this one. In one incident, a boy was sent to the hospital with a broken nose, cranial fractures and a punctured lung because he beat another kid in Counterstrike. Go figure.

Speaks for a serious lack of discipline and values taught at home if you ask me. Which I'm sure you don't, but since it's one of my frothing pet peeves, I'll pretend you did.

Spare the rod and the little curtainclimbers will take it and beat the neighborkids with it. Problem is, we have two entire generations of spazzy, self-centered retards who never learned right from wrong and never recieved an effective punishment for doing wrong in their short little lives.

Granted, some, like Tacz, figure it out on their own. But he's one in a million. Or maybe his parents are smart and did right by him when he was a tadpole. Hey Tacz... your parents smack you around when you got out of line?

But yeah.... Communist China.

The day I have kids, they'll get the same upbringing I got. Some might not say that it was normal, but hey, it was normal for me.

So many people seem to forget to bash some order of sense into their kids heads. Some seem to bash too MUCH order into their kids heads, and some again seem like they want their children coccooned into a giant ball of foam so that they'll not hurt themselves or experience pain. Ever.

Go figure.

Looking back at my own upbringing, I cannot even BEGIN to fathom what would bring someone to physically bash another person and send him to a hospital with rather severe injuries just because of a videogame. It's a total enigma.

Well, Miv, that's easy. Humans are a highly competitive and opportunistic species with huge levels of aggression when you put a lot of us in one place without exercising a lot of controls when we're children. For most of us, being TOLD what's right and what's wrong without a longstanding, consistant system of both positive and negative enforcement during our first 18-23 years just isn't enough to make us fit to play with others.

For some of us even that isn't enough once we leave mommy and daddy. SOME of us require the continued system religion supplies, complete with omnipotent father figure ready to reward our good deeds and punish our bad for all eternity in the afterlife to keep us in line.

It's kinda hard since even those of us who were instilled with decent morals and ethics are confronted daily with evidence that those who throw them out the window profit more than those of us who keep to them. Liars, cheaters and theives DO prosper and that's a powerful lesson to everyone around them.

Those of us who lack relious faith don't even have the vindictive satisfaction of thinking we'll reap our everlasting reward while those who surpass us by less moral, more destructive behaviors will suffer eternally in payment for how they got over in their lives. And the reality is that most people, even and maybe especially a lot of the ones who claim to be religious and attend their churches and synagogues regularly don't REALLY believe anymore.

It's just in our nature. And no matter how long we are "civilized", it's bloody hard to tame a homo sapiens and keep one that way. Kinda like Seigfried and Roy's tigers. One slip in caution and you could lose your face.

Not really, but that whole "evil eye" and the "we're ashamed of you" really struck home with me. I guess that I just never wanted to let my parents down.

Anyway, this is absurd behavior. Disputes in MMORPGs and other games should never leave said game. Some people are irrational, and try to justify to themselves these actions by the fact that the other person stole something of real value to them, when really, it cost you no real money (unless you count the subscription charges).

Don't need em.

I'm perfectly happy without em.

Werd.

And besides, my sister has already put two children into the world, so the genes of my family will get carried on :P

Best way of ensuring you're never going to have kids: Visiting McDonalds when there's TWO birthdayparties there. That'll erode any thought about having kids. Ever :P

Yeh, Nex, that's scary. If he was American, I'd say it was the whole DR. Spock parenting thing some of our parents went in for... but somehow I don't think his parenting books ever made an impact in Communist China in the 60s when he was growing up.

Tacz, whatever your parents did, they did it right. *grin* You're so not typical. You're so... adult and... principaled. Wish there were more of you around. I would like kids better if there were.

Believe me, I'm really not unique. There're alot of kids like me, it's just that there are lots who give everyone of us a bad rap.

And did anyone notice that these guys had lent him the sword? Doesn't it seem kinda weird that they would lend something worth killing over?
