yes. way too damn catchy. this is not my nine inch nails. this is not the trent reznor i love. i guess he is getting old though, not everyone can be al jourgenson.
*starts spreading a rumor that nin has gone "soft" in hopes of another broken-style ep*

In 1998, when he decided to rip Bill Leeb and Front Line Assembly, he bit the hand that feeds him. Reznor basically exists to commercialize the real old school "Industrial" outfits. He prolly listened to one song each of Throbbing Gristle, Neubateun (sp, I suc), Psychic TV combined, and then he decided to rip some FLA, Skinny Puppy, and a little Front 242 all in one swipe. I just go insane when NIN gets love, because Reznor is nothing but a HACK. I could get real philosphical on this, but I'll just let it float with this for now.
i'm afraid the release will be overshadowed by the new vnv nation cd coming out next month

I think you go insane because of an unnatural hatred for NIN, just because Reznor has acheived a level of success and notariety that brings him out of being underground and subversive, and into the mainstream.

Then I want you to think of every mainstream artist that you dislike because they sold out (metallica, spears, whatever), and immediately apply that statement to yourself. Even what we call "pop" today started as a practically underground form of music.
Demongirl wrote:well i'm done here, too many people's panties in a bunch i see. sorry epi, but i love nin all of the albums ( except things falling apart *shrug*) but my least favorite thing is the melodic bits he should have put on the same cd of the double album instead of intermingling them with the actual songs, not the music just how he released it, i bought the quake demo for the reznor. lol. vnv lacking creativity? hardly. but trent is faaaaarrr from godhood so don't be hatin' on other bands like that. sh*t i just said i may not be listening to the new nin as much as i'd like to because the new vnv is coming out. vnv and wolfsheim are at the top of my list these days, trent needs to earn a place back in my fav's and all the fans(haters) here aren't helping. lol
you think you're evil but you're not
still sucking life from the mainstream
it's so deluded give it up
edit: " The Downward Spiral " , not because its the first album of his I'd heard...oh you're one of those people. j/k epi, get off my ass, i'm the one who mentioned broken and it was damned good, as was the downward spiral. after the downward spiral is when i sorta lost nin... if i was looking for melodic atmosphere i'd turn to dead can dance. i simply found other bands i liked more than what he was doing at the time. yet i still bought all those halos and i still listen to them. i don't care if you "sell out" as long as i like what you're doing i'll listen.
