Like the insurance companies don't cheat along with as well? They were dumb enough to insure smokeable items from fire. Tacz, when was the the last time your Rebublican parents smacked you upside the head for being the doofus on a wierd sled contraption? Doobya just made class action lawsuit's pretty much dead, so kill the legitation process. Doobya says well dont tramp on me, until it involves tramping on my interest (OIL!). The rich insurance companies only bring up problems when they have to PAY. I say that dude was (just as the original post topic says), too smart for his own good. Go buy a house Tacz, then when a major thunderstorm blows through and knocks half of a 10 ton tree on to your house, then see if the insurance is on your side...pfft! I might outta shut up right about now.
But, I'm not picking on you Tacz...didn't mean it to sound that way. Just that this topic effects homeowners, such as myself. I smoke cigarettes for example, so my health insurance is higher (of course), but so is my house insurance, and my car insurance. How about some freaking "Dumb asses that talk on their phone in their car while driving insurance"? The Insurance companies don't work for you, they work for them, or maybe some "Drinking and Driving Insurance" Insurance companies would go out of business if it wasnt for drunk drivers......and they might save you up to 15% too, if it wasnt for that damn CGI'd GECKO.
/rant off oh wait...I never put a /rant on

Not that I ever imagined you as a hotbed of morality, but ya pretty much. It has nothing to do if they are "nice" or not. And if an insurance company willingly decides to INSURE something as moronic as CIGARS against FIRE, meaning that they wanted to COLLECT a premium on it each month, then I don't see it as "fucking" them out of money that isn't yours....call it a stupidity tax. Anybody who thinks that insurance companies are "here to protect you", prolly hasn't paid a dime of insurance, because once it actually comes time for them to pay up, they don't without a fight.
Decavolt wrote:You honestly believe this guy did nothing wrong in any way, and that the insurance company is fully at fault and deserved to get jacked like that? They gave the man a policy that was clearly intended to protect against things like a house fire. Every party involved knew that. This guy decided from the start to screw the insurance company, and he got what he deserved.
Why do you think insurance companies are so cautious to pay out? Why do you think rates are so high? Because of jackasses like this guy. Good god, think about it for a minute.
I may not be a "hotbed of morality", but I do know the difference between right and moronically-wrong.
