Oh come on X, I only missed one thing ;)

Seriously though, if when you turn on your computer you don't run the rist of causing a city wide (or larger) black out, then your computer is not Uber enough.

Everything so far is perfect.. except two small things.
One.. it's not letting me load my other HD as a slave.. and we can't figure out why. It keeps trying to boot from that drive even though the jumpers are off.
and two.. my moniter has one little dead pixel near the bottom that on a black screen shows bright green... and the warrenty says there has to be 8 dead for replacement.. but it's very unnoticable, so..

biggest thing is the hard drive... my life is on those discs... and I cant get to them *cry* :?

Have you tried installing the HDs on seperate IDE/SATA cables (can't remember the correct terminology)?

And I doubt your life is really on those discs. Your life is the guy helping you build your uber rig, and your kid (playing with the SATA cable you can't find in the corner).
Cheer up! You will find a solution, if nothingt else stick the old drive(s) back in the old PC and just transfer the files via ethernet.

Try forcing it by using the jumpers on both drives to set one as master and one as slave, and might also try switching their positions on the ribben (unjumpered usually defaults to Cable Select, if I'm not mistaken, which means position on ribbon is everything).

Also BIOS should have a boot sequence option, so as long as both drives appear and are recognized, you can force either IDE0 or IDE1 to be your first step in the boot sequence that way.

*Mouth frothing*

 Aaargh!
I got my computer gizmos over three months ago. It's all come together to form... a massive paper weight. It won't turn work. Powers up yes, but doesn't go to bios.

Three months now.

It's nearly identical to Trists machine (I think?), and 5 very smart tech people have been over it. NO ONE can tell me what's wrong with it. O_O Everyone guesses, "it could be the motherboard."

I'm waiting for my second motherboard replacement to arrive.
Three months now since originally ordering the parts...
three months.

I... envy all you that have a functioning computer. And hate you all too. :P For the same reason of course.

I didn't mean it quite that literally.. I'm well aware my family is my life..

We got the problem solved.. I was able to find my slave and get it working... but then accidentally formatted it.. so ALL my music is gone bye bye.. :( :(

I'll never be able to remember everything I had so I guess over time I'll just remember songs here and there and try to get my hands on them.. ah well.. at least it's running smooth :) :)

Who need neon light? I prefer a computer stylish without neon

I love my UV light tubes... nothing brings out flourescent and glow hardware like a nice tube... though I've been wanting to upgrade to a new system so whenever I have the extra cash flow LEDs are definately on the list.
