Meh. Carrey and Myers are too hyper to play Wonka. Look at Gene Wilder's presentation of Wonka and you can see that he may be odd and eccentric but he's also very much under control of himself. Depp can pull that off, as we saw in Pirates of the Caribbean. But Carrey and Myers are too out of control.

And that gets old after awhile.

Carey? I can't say I agree with you on that one Nex. While the guy is great for some roles, he's not great for everything. As Daewen said, he's just too spastic. Willy Wonka is much more brooding and comtemplative.

(it's 'pedophile') While there is wide speculation (and nothing more) that Carroll was a pedophile, he was also a fundamentalist christian... so it's pretty much a given that he was a least a little off in the head.

I honestly can't tell if its supposed to be a horror or a comedy. Its far too dark.

There was more than one version of the book? Read it as a kid, can't remember, but I don't recall it as dark... :? Then again, I prolly wasn't entirely normal... ^^

You hatin on my spellin lol im a kid i got an excuse for bad spelling. Well what tim burton (Love all his movies especially TNBC) is trying to have somewhat imagination with it but trying his best to keep it more like the book then willy wonka and the chocolate factory cause the writer of catcf hated willy wonka in the chocolate factory and wouldn't release rights as a sequel as you can tell tim burton is making a remake and not a sequel AHHH OOOOOOOOOO *cheer*

Sure they stop teaching you spelling in 7th, but shouldn't you be using the words, reading, writing, etc. enough that you don't forget and pick up more complex words by slow assimilation?
