DAoC's expansion pack "Catacombs" is adding the Vampiir class to Hibernia (essentially a vampire) ;). Anywho, I did enjoy AO's take on sci-fi. There is nothing more awesome than flying mounts like Yalms (horse < yalm). I wish there were more sci-fi/cyber punk MMOs honestly, but AO is the only one so far that has gotten it somewhat down.
These are the moments we'll remember for the rest of our restless lives.

I read all of page one in this thread (hi folks ^_^), and feel like saying something before reading on.

I dig two settings; Cyberpunk settings, and Epic settings. Epic doesn't = fantasy to me. Magics, swords, sure, that could be a part of it, but what has become known as "fantasy" thanks to games like EQ and D&D, it doesn't do much for me... actually, I dunno quite how to explain it. Other than the typical mixture of "magic items", levels, and that stupid crap also grates on me from time to time.

AO, when I first started playing WAS my escape to a Cyberpunk game. There was a story of rebelion against an oppressive corperation, drugs (stims), cyberware/nanoware, and STYLE. Lordy the style! A vast new (and beautiful, even the parts that... wern't) world. I felt something when I first played, and I have never felt that way in a game since.

I think there definately needs to be a revival of a cyberpunk genre. I dunno about a Shadowrun game though... I'm quite leery of Orcs and dwarves running around a cyberpunk genre. But, I'd have to check it out in loo of any other alternitive. I'd jump on it if the AO team assisted.
Like a Punk.

Heya Fir' good to see your still kickin about ^^
I find it kinda difficult tbh. I like AO... But even it get's real old at times. The constant grinding. At least a few other games had some high lvl content other than trying to make a certain type of monster extinct. It might work if they weren't breeding faster than rabbits, but at this rate... *Le sigh*

Honestly the genre is secondary in my oppinion. I can look back at EQ with loathing... But I can also miss playing my enchanter. No other game has goven me a profession/class that can even compare. So I can't hate the game entirely. I try tho ^^

It doesn't matter to me if it's fantasy, cyper punk, futuristic or a mix. If the game has contens and a good interfase (the interfase cannot be underestimated) and a solid game play, I'll play mostly anything.

Trick is to find a game that has that. So far, no game has gotten it completely right, tho AO seems to be the one that's caught my fancy the most, so I stick with that... For now.

Because if it was anything less than this one http://www.gridstream.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4540
it would suck. it has to be set in the World of Darkness as rule'ified by White Wolf. Since that gives the huge background depth/material needed to create a believable setting.
