Part of me is jumping up and down excited.. the other half is dreading what an already problematic game is going to do to my system and if I will even be able to play it.. (I am getting a new system soontm)

Either way it looks awesome as hell and I can't wait to see it in all it's glory. :)

Well honestly I think the graphics in the SL are way better than on RK, so possibly they are just upgrading the world below to look as good as the world above. But I am terribly excited about the mention of upgrading the look of characters even more(though in a recent poll on one of the fan sites I voted improve the world over improve char looks)

SL lags like a bitch...
Hmm, I guess it's upgrade time... And just as I'm looking at moving as well... Bollocks!

Oh good god! Although that would be very cool my machine would probably choke on its own graphics card and die in a mass of link-deads and furious screaming at the screen.

Time to upgrade methinks.

Hmm... The EQ make over actually lagged less despite better Graphics because the engine was better, faster and more stable... Maybe this will be the case here too...

Does anyone have a direct link to some of these 'enhanced engine' screenshots?

I think the ones I have seen are just to Alien Invasions.

i went and got the fooking ATI radion 9800 pro because of doom 3, and damn that game ran fricking aweesome!! and that game pushed the damn envelope for graphic cards in many ways (yeah yeah, not all, but dont argue with me ok?) , now to tackle half life 2.... actually SCREW THAT, i like you guys too much, and I have better things to do than dive into something other than AO
If im going to do any gaming with my time, im going to do it here, I've finally realized that with all this confusion of work, art and entertainment and breathers, consolidation isn't such a bad thing.
step u
I can more than handle the engine upgrade. and i embrace it. more reason to stick around. but you guys are more than enough reason. screw the rest of the the mmorpg's. pardon my french, but where the FUCK are you gonna find this kinda family?

hmm i m not yet sure if i ll like the new graphics.
that screenshot of the forestpath.
the new grass texture. hmm i think the old was was better.
the new path texture, while itself looks much better,
I think together withthe other more colorful texture i wont like it.
in the newsletter was written something about more colorful graphics.
I dont like color. I prefer the simple brownish dirty style of my beloved newland desert.

The link's at the top of the news article, linked above. It's only four shots, two seperate "before and after" comparisons, in the second row of the screenies.

And in case mosyt of you didn't notice!
Yes things will be "fresher" looking.
Ya know why? The Terraforming of the core parts of Rubi-Ka is completing,
the terraforming regions or to be expanded.
(the screenshots)
So new playfields, I suspect that future expansions will also bring new playfields with a rugged frontier/no-really-that-much-terraforming-yet look.

I'm guessing that the swamps etc will start to look like a jungle.
It's a natural progression as core areas of Rubi-Ka get warmer and more lushious.
Most likely it will be like Shadowlands, where the edges look way worse than the center etc.

I kinda like that, makes for even more progressive scenery change :)

Go into your video card settings and play around - you can probably get most everything looking a bland-brownish color if you set it right - then you'll be happy (unless you start looking at pr0n)
