Actually, I agree with you on much of your view. So, I was just being funny for the sake of it. I don't quite agree with one point. That many sit behind the keyboard and do nothing. Myself I just participated in the campaign to stop the INDUCE act from getting passed. http://savebetamax.org Basically, thiswas one of those absurd laws that have been being passed trying to stifle innovation and allow special intrest groups i.e. RIAA and MPAA govern who can make a device to make anytype of media or media format. Basically, many people particiapted and we scheduled via the web on when and who to contact for your area of the country. I.e. My time to call Senator Frist was at 9:00 am. I called and spoke to his office and asked to speak to the senator for a couple of moments and did so. Basically, all of the senators at that point realized, hmmmm maybe we shouldn't try to push this through.

That doesn't mean they won't try again, but that is where, websites and groups of people banding together and flooding these guys and the media with information will start to stop this crap.

We are in the information age and so much of the "old blood" out there doesn't know how to or are scared to assimilate so much information and make logical choices on things.

Being on the puter doesn't mean you sit by and watch the world pass you by. But that is a choice you make, what websites you frequent, what news sites you read, and so on. Lord knows if all I did was look at the victoria secrets website, which I could, all day,, I would miss a lot of things going on in the world. It is your choice on what you learn and choose to participate, that is the joy of freedom, but if you don't participate, you ahve no reason to complain. Which is the same as with voting. If you choose to follow the 2 party principle, then guess what you are doomed to repeat mistakes. You can vote for other people. So you say then you vote doesn't matter cause a majority didn't. That is what makes a differance, educating people into your view point and getting people to think beyond the end of their nose.

*Before reading*

I don't consider it anti-american. Heck, the freedoms we blabber on about are the freedom to criticize and find fault with the nation we live in. Simply finding faults and criticzing your nation is hardly Anti-american, or anti-whatever nation your in. When you start to try and harm the nation or its people is when your anti-american. Hadn't one of the philosphers who considered democracy suggested the people revolt against the government, and preserve the right to?

Your right. Thats the problem. The enlightened, unblinded, intelligent and thoughtful people that we find on GSP and beyond, do little a thing to fix the problem. We know whats wrong, we are ready to critizie about whats wrong, but we havent found or search for a solution.

Merely expressing your thoughts and unintentional act of bringing to light something I didn't know (The bicycilst incident) has done a tiny, insigifigant step in making the country better. One by one, it will take a long time but its better than keeping silent.

For each sheep that convinces another away from following the mob into slaughter, there is bound to be another sheep that gets dragged away by the saved one. :) Even if thats blind optimism.

Theres an honor in the soldiers, who have to put up with being playthings for a politicans game. To be honest, I doubt any of them will care about our spoiled asses when tehy are getting shot at. They'll be caring about their comrades doing the fighting, and that couldn't be any wiser.

I'm sick and tired of seeing puppets as national leaders. (regardless of country) we all know the one in the "seat" has virtually no power other than what is stated in that nations constituion.

The King of Norway has hardly any power, heck the priminister has more power even. in England the Queen has more power than the priminister.
Not sure about Denmark or Sweden but I assume it's similar to Norway.
The Royal familiy is more about traditions, old clauses in the constitution and to "show off" to the world. (great PR ya know).

In America it seems the president is a combo of a King and a priminister.
Burt as we all know, even a priminister has no major power. it's the political party that does.

If it was up to me I'd go with either of the following to possibilities.
(which one a country would be best offf with, would depend on the country and people ther I guess).

1.
Abolute Monarchy, where the King truly IS the ruler, and his words are the law. Politicial issues would be at a minimum if at all, only politics going on would be international ones or to neighbouring nations.

2.
Leaderless.
This one would be more interesting as, I doubt it's truly been done before.
Setting up a system for this to work would be hard.
But essentialy, the people themself would be the goverment.
And a certain set of automatic rules (maybe monitored and handled by computers) would have to be in place to avoid the "people" spending all the cash on just one monetary issue.
Also a base set of rules would have to be in place to avoid missuse and anarchaic situations.
Once setup properly, even the base rules could be changed later to a certain extent as ANY issue that the computer would be needed to be given a yes or no on, would be voted on by the people.
If someone don't vote iduring te voting periode then oops, how bad.
There would still be a need for goverment official to enforce the voted on results from the system,
and there would still be a need for officials to represent the nation in international affairs or national affairs. But that peron or persons would just be speakers of the nation and not the leaders.
The people would be the leaders thru their voting (or lack of even).

Both 1 and 2 would rid us of the issues of wether this or that agenda would bring this or that political party in a good or bad light etc.
Really sad isn't it? These days a political party's main focus is the political image and not really the political issues.
How many times have politicians said one thing and unable to fullfill it, or done something completely else instead? Even the fully oposite of their political promises?
During elections it's all about political image, and it's all lies usually.
Once they got the power...there are a million excuses (which usualy exist) as to why they couldn't keep their promises, or why it's taking too long etc.

Ask ANY politician running for president or priminister or whatever this:
"Do you want to win or lead?"

Most likely you get one of 3 reactions, stuoid ones wold answer win, ignorant ones would not be able to see the differene, smart ones would say lead.

1. If they answer win then reply "Then you are not fit to be a leader!" (it never was a contest)
2. If they can't decide or see both as the same, reply to them "Then you are not fit to be a leader!" (they are indecisive or blind on issues)
3. If they answer neither win nor lead then reply "Then you are not fit to be a leader!" (they don't stick to the issue at hand)
4. If they answer to lead then reply "Then stop trying to win and start leading
*smile*" (may even be worth voting for *Shrug*)
5. If they answer "I'm just trying to prevent the other guy from winning!" Then do the following...Hug them, shake their hand and smile. Cause what you got there is a HONEST and straight from the heart oppinionated politician, so run and vote right now. That person DESERVE to lead, and he'd prolly do a damn good job too.

So what kind of candidate are you gonna vote for?
If the current candidate is type 1, 2 or 3. Well, you'r soo out of luck.
4 ain't halfbad but are any current candidates that good right now? Nah..
And type 5? One can only dream I guess...If lucky it mau happen sooner than later.

What type is Kerry, what Type is Bush? And What type was Clinton? *ponders*
(to any non-US citizens) replace the polititian names with whatever is competing in your nation and whom was last times head of nation.
I bet every dan country out there has a type 1-3 and if very very lucky a type 4 but those are rare.
I so wish there was more type 5's out there. *sigh*

Where would I place myself? hmm a mix of type 4 and 5 maybe... lol

denzel???!!! hell no! i put my bid in for first black president as Samuel L. Jackson. i want to see that debate, against bush would be great, bush is fumbling over words when Jackson blurts out "ENGLISH, MOTHERF***ER... DO YOU SPEAK IT?" hell i dunno really about a jedi leading the nation, but with how well he's known i'd say he could have a decent shot as long as his politics weren't too extreme.

Haha, rock on.
