Spiderman 2 (minor rant and spoiler warning!)

Yeah i just watched Spiderman 2 and i gotta say i was disappointed.

First of all IMO Toby McQuire isnt the right person for the role of Spiderman.

Second: Peter Parker ISN'T that much of a wuss, i've been reading the comicbooks and he never was that of a wuss in them that he is in the movie. I mean he is not like the damned Superman and his alter ego.

Third and last: Spiderman was showing his face too many times to too many ppl. They just had to make him take his hood off every second scene there was. Spiderman is really carefull about his indentity and they just had to change that.

And that "hero" scene where he stoppped the train from falling to the ocean was just too cheesey. "here spiderman have your hood back we wont tell anyone", pffft.

but on overall note i liked the movie just those few minor details that made it less good and enjoyable.

*waiting for spiderman 3* (hope it has something new to offer, but i guess Harry goes loco)

Hmm, allow me to disagree with pretty much everything you said...

I personally find Toby MaQuire perfect for the role. He's sympathetic, you can't help but like the bugger. The movie is alive in a way very few manage to achieve... In my honest oppinion, I think I like it better than number one...

Sure, the train was cheesy, so what, one scene isn't going to ruin the whole movie. When I left the cinema after that movie I had a down right feeling of pleasure about me. Very few movies do that. I think Spiderman II is a fantastic example of how it CAN be done... Completely disregarding such futile attempts as Batman 3+, Cat Woman, and let's not forget the downright horrid Dare Devil...

Well for one thing I still look back at Catwoman in the Batman film with some regard. The movie could have been better, but still was fairly decent.

Daredevil was also good. Again could've been better (personally without Ben Affleck & an unknown as The Kingpin IMHO), but had a great story. They pretty much did the best classic DD story.

Spidey 2 - I did kinda hate that he took his mask off for everyone. But at least in the train scene it was done a little better (he took it off when some oil got on it and hence he couldn't see) Overall though the flick was pretty magnificent. Better than the first, and that was quite good. One little stickler point that they fixed for me - Betty Brant actually had her name said in this one. And as for Peter not being that geeky in his civilian life in the comics, aparently you never read like the first 10 years or so of the Spider-Man comics. Back then he was an uber geek when not in the red & blue getup. Peter Parker is a science geek. Always has been despite what you may have read! Nuff said!

Doh! Yeah, I see that now, hmm... My bad man, in that case, I pretty much agree with everything you said. The only good thing about Dare Devil was Colin Farrel... Mainly cus he's always good.

I didnt say he isnt a geek did I? I just didnt like the über geekness in the movie...

And btw MJ looks alot hotter in the comics...
