ALLERT!!! MAJOR fan-boy rant ahead... Proceed at own risk!

Ooooh! AvP is out soon... SO soon... Can you feel it, can you taste the bitter defeat as the Pred' must realize it's gonna die?
(Let's face it... It CAN'T win!!!)

Oooh, I just saw all the new trailers and intro's and stuff... Oh god, if this movie was a woman, I'd go in for rape...
I WANT IT'S BABIES!!!

Watch them, have you ever seen anything as beautiful? It's moving, it's bigger and it's better made than ever... Oh I'm as giddy as a school girl backstage at a Justin Timberlake concert!!!

I must watch this movie... I MUST!!!

watch out guys, some reason to be a bit aware of this movie comming up.

First: when you do a movie that is based on two other successful movies (in this case Aliens, and Prederator), you go to the people that have done things for that movie, in this case the costumes right? Well... no... in this case the director did not and decided that it was better for him to ditch the costume warehouse/factory what ever you want to call them, that did all of the other Alien movies (whom also did all of the prederator costumes, or costume I forget if there was a prederator 2... anywho).

Second: the director is.... *drum roll* Paul Anderson (or Paul W.S. Anderson). Why is this important... well for two reasons... first one should be the reason why you are shaking in your boots right now... the second one is that... he did SOILDER... actually he did a lot more than just Soilder... here are his movie credentials:
- Resident Evil (2002) (an "O.K." Movie)
- Sight, The (2000) (TV) (never saw it, but it was made for TV, so who good was it really?)
- Soldier (1998) (GOD, what an AWEFUL MOVIE!!!)
- Event Horizon (1997) (this was a good movie, I liked it, but the problem was that I started to get lost in the end of this one. But this is probabbly the best movie on the list)
- Mortal Kombat (1995) (Good movie, loved mortal kombat... liked the second one TONS better though. But this was a good movie)
- Shopping (1994) (...wait... you made a movie about shopping? Shopping... the thing that you do with money, the thing you do when you buy food. WHAT THE F**K WHERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU MADE THIS MOVIE!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE? SHOPPING... SHOPPING!!! Did the person in the movie BUY SPINNING RIMS?)

Third: Pray to God that you didn't see the entire movie in the trailier, because that does happen. Trailers look cool... but a bit too secretive to me to make me really want to geek out on the movie.

So not to ruin the fan-boy parade (hell I was fanboying a bit as well once I heard about this 6 months ago)... but....... beware fan boys, don't keep your hopes up.

(Also further note: As much as I liked AvP, AvP 1 was bugged as hell, you couldn't play the Alien when the game first came out... AvP2 was cool, but a bit limited, esp for the prederator side of things).

i understand ya concren nex, i said the same thing. its as risky as the guy who directed all those shit movies (xXx, SWAT, all that other crap) doing a remake of The Evil Dead.

the guy who did the alien costums, or the design of it really, would be H.R. Gigor. a very strange yet extremly talented man. he takes everything from dark fear to human sexuality and pusts them into his paintings. the one that the alien is based off of is called "Necronom". go check out H.R. Gigor. cool stuff. and pray that paul, who makes simply mindless no thought zero emotion movies, does a good job. i mean, take a look at alien. the original. the A number one movie. why was it so good? because it wasnt just action. it was emtional. you could feel the tension, the fear. THATS how to make a horror movie and create a big impact. making an action horror movie like Jeepers Creepers...those are cheap scares. those dont make an impact lik alien did. christ, when i first saw alien, i couldve sworn the thing was curled up in that fetal possistion tucked away in the corner of my pad. when i saw jeepers creepers i left the theater laffing. so again, hope and pray. ive wanted an AVP movie for sooooo long damnit.

[Entering Rantboy mode...]

RE was TOTALLY cool, I LOVED it, it's the ONLY zombie movie I've ever watched more times that Evil Dead 3. It might not be the scariest movie ever, but it has atmosphere like only a few others have ever pulled of. Sleepy Hallow to mention one.

And yes there WAS a Pred' 2... Not all that great but spiffy none the less.
You mentioned that it was a bad thing he ditched the original costume makers... Well, to be honest, did you see the original Alien costumes? Viewed with todays eyes, they SUCKED. And further more, you even sure the company still exists?
As for pred's, those are some sweet suits so far man!

Oh, and Rivi... Please! Don't ever... EVER mention Geepers Creepers again... That has to be the BIGGEST pile of crap I've ever seen... My Girl or Legally Blonde have more credability!
The movie was pretty ok, untill the thing turned out to be some monster thingy... It had all the trimmings of cool and paranoia, till that thing showed it's poorly made face... 27 min into the movie no less... No chock classic of NEVER truely seeing the thing chasing you, NO! Here they were too damn eager to show it... Totally blew it...

But enough of this, AvP pwns ALL others, the games were rad, I LOVE AvP2 as well as the Alien Trillogy [YES! TRILLOGY, no way in hell am I acceptng that lame "band wagon" ride of a B-Movie that they called number 4... God it sucked so horribly, I felt violated after watching it!!!]

Anyway, back to the rant...

All praise the glory that is AvP!!!

If you're excited about the flick, play the game - Aliens vs. Predator 2. You'll wet yourself.

Hunting humans as the Predator where you jump out of trees and take skulls as trophies, or crawling upside down at mach 3 through access tunnels to pounce on some hapless marine and shred him into little bits of pudding is DAMN fun. Oh, and you get to shoot every damn thing that moves with every projectile weapon you can think of as the marine.

It's only $10 bucks at Best Buy now and, fan of the movies or not, it's a damn good game.

Marines/Coporate is the way to play.

I don't play Multiplayer often due to the fact I always get yelled at for cheating when I don't.

People just don't like the fact I can land headshots really effiecently.

To each his own.. but for the time being, I like not having to worry about ammo or aim when I drop like a bullet from 20 feet above and munch on your skull before you have time to scream "oh shit".

I'll get more into marine and pred breeds later, I'm sure.

Of course I play... And as much as this sounds like blatant bragging (and it prolly is) I have yet to meet a challenge... I play drone all the way, and I dare you to stand in my way... But then again, I have too much spare time... I completed max payne on third difficulty setting, without ever using a painkiller...
I played Generals to the point where I can take out 4 opponents, computer as real life, before they're done building their first tech center...

I like games... and when I play 'em... all else is sec prio... so of course I "raped" AvP2 over... and over... and over again... And rivi... you're a launcher marine?... Shame, I prefer Smart Gun marines... they think they're so safe with that auto tracking... When peeps think their safe, s'when they DIE! ^^

Tho hunting Pred's is still my action of choice... Nothing like showin 'em who's the KING if the jungle... and who's prey, no matter what toys they bring!
*snicker*

Geepers Creepers2 was probably worse than the first one (quickly responding to a post 5-8 posts ago) - GC probably woulda been better had they done most of it as creepy suspense scares where ya barely saw anything but scary glowing eyes and that crazy truck. Oh well...

Just seen AvP!
And hmm... well I think its not a movie much ppl will like.
Except Alien and Predator fans :)
I would call it a pure fan movie.
But I m a fan too, so I loved it!
Especialy all those little things that reminded me of the Alien movies.
(i.e. one of the actors, a knive...)
I think the ppl were dieing too fast, there should have been a longer gap between the deaths, like in aline 1+4.
I didnt noticed much references to the predator movies (beside the obvious ones), but I ve seen those 2 only once. And didnt liked the making, the Backgroundstory was great, though (right the opposite to the cronicles of riddick).

Cant await to see the german version in theatres!

Oh and the first scene was just so great!

Haven't seen the movie yet, but planning to.

But here's my objective view as a die-hard fanboy of both:

Predator can not only destroy the Alien, but do it blindfolded. Sure, in unarmored hand-to-hand Alien would eat Predator alive, but that's not the scenario Predator's going to allow himself to be in.

It's seasoned hunter w/big gun vs bear. Bear is stronger, but bear still loses.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and when I finally do see the movie: If the aliens win, that's marketing BS, just because alien was more popular (why is beyond me, Predator has a billion times more personality to it), and it will make me instantly hate the movie.

It must end either in a draw, or with Predator taking it's rightful place as the better of the two species.

[Entering alien fan-boy rant mode:]

*Hiisssss, hiisss hiss hiss hiiissss screetch!*

*Translated*
DIE HEATHEN! The Aliens will SO kick the Pred's ass! The Predators make the same mistake everyone who thinks their superior makes, they try to "toy" with their prey... Only problem is, these are bugs, and once they're out, you can't controll them. Their pride will be their demise!

[Leaving rant mode...]

Haven't seen it either, and I'll say it now, if anyone spoils the ending, I swear to god, I'll take a loan, get a jet to where ever you may be in the world... And seriously kick your ass!
And Mum' you can't imagine how happy I am to hear that it's a fan movie... So tired of watching user friendly, new crowd orientated movies take over... Kills the scene, you know?

But T' man, I have a proposal for ya... Let's make this interesting. I suggest a bet! ^^
I haven't seen the movie, and to be honest, I doubt they'll let the hive win, the masses wouldn't want it, but they're who I support and I always will. So I'm willing to risk it!
What you say mate?

Hmm... Ooh! I know!

Whoever wins get's "I pwned <loosers name>" in their tittle while whoever lost must have "I was pwned by <Winners name>" for like a week or so!

Whatcha say ^^

But bear in mind, the movie hasn't hit DK yet (And I hates them for it, yes I does... Keeping my preeeciioussss from me!) so no cheating and just sayin you won cus I can't see it for another month or so... So it'll like have to wait till then...
