I couldn't agree more. This is what makes GSP different, worthwhile, and dare I say better than commercial radio. We don't answer to sponsors, we don't have to bow to the FCC, we don't have to do what ClearChannel commands.

Just to give all those paying attention fair warning -- I do most of my shows from Hope bar for several reasons, and the on-air atmosphere will reflect that. I drink, within reason, and I very much enjoy it. That's not about to stop any time in the forseeable future. Yes yes, I could do every show as sober as a judge but (for this DJ at least) I loosen up after a beer or three and I, for one, have a lot more fun which seems to trickle down to those listening as well. I know it's a very similar situation for other DJ's, but (as mentioned above) certainly not all of us. The point that's been made a few times now is that if the show isn't floating your boat, turn it off and tune in later. While we'd love it if you all listened 24/7, we know that's not the reality and we're glad for that too. Having listeners with diverse tastes (in both music and DJ's) makes us in turn strive to be more diverse and hence a better station. I'm very very glad that we have the sort of atomosphere here where our listeners can give us honest feedback (good AND bad). Some of us drink and party on-air. I don't expect this to be everyone's cup of tea, but don't let one show that you didn't enjoy spoil the whole experience for you. Remember, we as DJ's are in this to have fun too - we just hope you'll come along for the ride.

I'm just putting my 2 bits in here, It was definitely one of those once in a while nights, I mean, yeah it was crazy and everything but a show like that is a rare ocurrence. I dont think we should turn this into another Howard Stern incident. I do not condone nor encourage the actions that took place. Overall though it was a fun show. It did get a bit hairy at times, but we all need to cut lose a bit sometimes. :P

It's already been said, but I still have two cents burning a hole in my pocket. I caught a good deal of Otori's show that night, and I for one found the juvenile humor a welcome change from the standard fare.

The DJ's of GSP don't get paid, rarely get the respect they deserve, and do this for the listeners benefit, I won't be one to hold an inquisition when once in a blue moon a DJ decides to just have fun, instead of worrying what the audience thinks.

And I was there when Otori finally went to bed, still chuckling to myself (and wondering where the playlist went) =D

Well my own thoughts... (And you know I all have them dispite the no head thing)

I've tuned in sometimes and not been pleased about the show. Most of the time this does not happen, so I don't worry about it when it does happen.

When I do see or hear a DJ do something unquie though and just grand beyond the band stand, I do let them know.

Many of you know, I don't bring Mumon on world long during GSP parties, and that is how I show the DJs that I feel they are doing a great job. I make the time to come on world and say MOO.

On the other hand you'll never hear me say BOO to a DJ's show (unless they start playing that Because I was High Song [and even then only jokingly]).

Have there been times that I tuned into GSP and tuned out after a short time of listening? Yes. Have there been times that I have showed my friends GSP and they listened and said that DJ sounds like an Asshole or what ever? Yes. Do I think that that there is a need to vent publicly about the DJs being human? No, if I have a realy big problem with a DJ, I'll email it to him/her and say look I realy wasn't pleased with this part of your show.

So as my last note? If you don't like something and you want it to change, you can't go around publicly shouting this sucks don't do that, I didn't like it, because the louder you talk the less people are likely to listen.

[edit add: Just look at used car sales men like Tarry Hanks of Sundance.]

D'oh, yes yes. Been so long since that talk, I wiped it outta memory, but I do remember now. Just don't expect me to remember any of your on-world alts. Reason #399 that I'll never be a school teacher. That plus you and Mummu always confusing the crap out of me with your names despite the glaring personality differences. :)

And yes we need to hang out soon. :)

Yes, and part of the theme would be the unholy war between me and the cows. I would be decked in full Duke Nukem gear, with corny one-liners and shotgun. I would use the mighty boot to tip cow butt, and save all the ladies from aliens.

I'd be doing the switzerland, making guns and watching the herds of heavily armed men stampede the squadron of cows.
