1. A robot can not harm a human being, or through inaction allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey all orders given by a human being, unless it conflicts with the first law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence, unless conflicting with the first two laws.
Sounds like fun

First thoughts - Before Movie: Another Will Smith movie? Based loosely on an Isaac Asimov book? Whooey! Crapfest 2004! I just finished reading the book, and I read NOTHING of a robot murdering a person. Looks like Starship Troopers all over again.
How WRONG I was...
After Movie: I think the German lady from "Super Troopers" said it best, when she said "Yippee kay-ey, mutha f*cka". The combat was great, with a nice blend of martial arts and blazing barrels. The movie blended good amounts of drama, action, and comedy.
Kid: "DUDE! She just shot the robot next to you with her eyes closed!"
Spooner: "Did you just shoot at the robot next to me with your eyes closed!?"
Dr. Calvin: "Well, yea..."
The story begins with Will Smiths character, Detective Spooner, of the NYPD (with a tremendous prejudice toward robots), being called to a homicide of a prominent researcher working for USR (United States Robots). After investigation, it seems that the doctor was killed by a robot of the doctors own making. The robot suspect eventually leads the detective to the robots plans to take over to serve the first law more exactly, claiming that with robots in charge, humans would be even more safe (Campbells condensed plot, its much more complex). Long story short, Will Smith and his cast of co-stars are trying to stop the robots from taking over. Although it sounds as if its an over-used plot, the story goes about it quite well, and it is still quite a good movie. The combat is reminiscent of "The Matrix," and Will Smith kicks some serious ass
