Went to see Spider Man 2...

Postby Nexeus » Thu Jul 01, 2004 4:09 pm

So I paid one ticket, for a movie I came late too, then paid again because I wanted to see the previews (and the full movie), so there I am, 10:30 pm, about to watch the movie, and it's pretty cool, I mean there's action, and intreige, I like the villian, I'm feeling for the hero, things are cool, and hey did you hear about this new split screen technology that Spider-Man 2 is using. Supposidly it works in a way that you get to see the bottom part of the movie on the top half of the screen and the top half of the movie on the bottom part of the screen... wait....

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, Spider-Man 2 was interrupted due to technical difficulties, and it quickly became "The White Screen" a new action thriller. But that movie was also interrputed by the resuming of Spider-Man 2... which was one again interrupted by "THe White Screen"...

So I'm out $20+ so everyone goes out, and complains to management, and they give everyone two return passes....

So basically I paid $20+ ($10+/ ticket) for two return passes, to see a movie I've already seen 1/2 of...

So I guess my night evened out. Karma and all.

Well what if I want to talk about the Spider-Man comics, or the Spider-Man Cartoon, or the Spider-man Action figures, or the fact that I'm thinking of purchasing a spiderman bed cover, and bed pillows, blinds, and want to paint my room black and red (you know spider-man colors) or get a spider-man wall scroll. Is it possible that then I can mention a word or two about Spider-man? ;-)

You find that setup effective with birds?

Okay so I hit on a woman after the spider-man movie and talked all about spiderman... her boyfriend looked at me funny... then the cops came... hummm.... maybe I should try talking to pigeons about spider-man and not women :-p

(disclaimer: No I'm not this much of a spider-man fan boy, I'm pretending to be one just to play with Oddy a bit)

I saw Spider Man 2 tonight with my room mate and I have to say this is by far one of the best sequels/movies I've seen in a long time. The way they carried pieces of part 1 into part II was ...as Tarryk would say...BRILLIANT!!!

I won't say anything more for fear of ruining it for ya but definetly go see this one

LOL!!!! Split screen. heheh. Sounds like the print brain-wrapped due to static and the film jumped in the gate half a frame only to be ripped out completely when it went completely taunt on the feed-in side.

For you non-projectionists(unlike myself) 35mm Film has a bad habit of picking up static... it is plastic after all. When it gets too much static, it sticks to itself on the platter on which it lying on. Which in turn can screw up the feed out timing by making the platter get stuck at full speed causing the film to wrap around the feed out roller cluster called the Brain... hence the term "Brain Wrap". New prints are notorius for picking up static in a projection booth with low humidity. Trust me it sucks when it happens to you when it's your Projection shift.

Oh the trials and tribulations of running 14 projectors at the same time I could tell you about ... but I wouldn't want to bore ya'll :p

Our favorite incredible wall crawling web slinging super hero's colors are blue and red Nexeus. :D

Wasn't until much later in the comics he streamlined the color scheme.

But yeah, you got robbed of some of the best parts, go see the movie where you can enjoy it... And if they screw up again, sic Epicine on 'em.

ha, looks like you went to see it at the same as me. went with a buddy neighbor and a friend who flew in from collage in CA. wasnt too bad. and i hear ya on tech difficulties there nex, same thing happend to me last winter: went to see lord of the rings: return of the king when it happend to me. right before the hobbit was about to describe what he saw in the crystal ball, the lights turned on, screen went white, and alarms went off with a voice saying "please remain calm and stay in your seats". after about 4 minutes of that, they went on to say "please leave the teeatre in a single file line". turns out some pipe burst right in the lobby due to the cold (it get FIERCLY cold in boston). really sucks when you have to sit through the first half of the film again -.-. hope you manage to catch the rest man!
