I'm a closet poet of sorts, but not sure I can step up to this plate partly due to the limitations ("spicy" theme and only 10 lines). Anyone heard from Wulfven lately to see if he wants a piece of this too? (thought I saw him online recently)

he did drop by GSP forums a month or so ago, but no sightings since. Funny, he was the first person I thought off too when I heard the poem declaration. ^_^

Wulfen is missed. He definately was a different sort of DJ. :P But it's keen to see another DJ pick up something as keen as a poetry contest! ^_^

You asked for it. Hopefully it's not too tasteless. This one came from Yin's twisted mind.

*shakes head*

Old I might be, but Yin recalls in me the vivid memory of once being a moonstruck youngster. How very amusing.

Thank you to those that enter. Please keep them coming. Yes, I remember all to well Wulfven's Poetry Nights. I don't believe it was ever a contest though, I think it just featured various poems being read through the night. Which I hope he will want to continue. This is just a bit different in style. I am not trying to replace what he did.

Just coming up with creative contests that will flavor my show. Also if you read the actual Poetry Contest post this based on a suggestion. The reason the poems are limited in lines is that I am not planning to say them aloud on air. I am planning to make scripts to post them in vicinity during the Spice Rack and while to music is being played.

So I want them to be easy to read and I don't want to spam the area to much. I may allow a few more lines in the future but I would like to run it a couple of times to see how it works out first.

I tried the link but it did not work for me I got an error. Is the page still avaliable? Anyone else get an error? It could just be me but I would like to know.

If remaining anon to the general public is important then I can make arrangements for those that are slightly shy. You can email: pantie@gridstream.com or PM me with them and I will make the post in the thread. Although, if you win the contest you need to be willing to pick up your prize with one of your in game characters which I will need to know ahead of time when you send your poem in.

As for the theme well it is Spice Radio and the Spice Rack but what one person considers spicy could be different to another. It doesn't have to be sexual. I just want what you personally consider spicy. Make it to your own spicy taste. :)

If you think it is Spicy and your satisfied with it sweetie then it is just fine.

Hope some of this helps out a little. I am glad there is some interest and I hope it gets more. Nothing is set in stone about it. I am just testing and eventually this will get tweak out or dropped all together. Keep your opinions goings. It is the only way I can test the various possibilities of running the contest without it turning into what Wulfven did.

For those joining a little late and would like to know more about the Poetry Contest itself. Please click here.

It looks like you do that already. I like the poem that is on your site. The contest only involves 10 lines so if you do get the inspiration enter. It is up to you.

Have fun everyone.

Okay, until I actually have the time to think... here is Eternity, the abridged version (to fit the rules)

Eternity

I stand alone on the shores of this distant isle,
Memories play upon my heart,
My thoughts drift to a place I once knew.
Candles flickering in the darkness,
Two figures, by the fire,
You and I, two becoming one,
A love Stronger than any other was born that night.
A silent tear escapes my soul,
As I await eternity with you.

Hmmm I gotta throw out there that I had a sorta idea for a poem about Firia driving home the other day. If it's OK with authorization of the person that is the subject I might come up with some entries related to a few individuals. Of course this would only be based on the info I've gleaned from posts on the forums. Well I guess this might be up to them...

Boinky,

If you are going to choose a particular person to feature in these poems I would like you to do two things before actually posting them on the forums. First get the permission of the subject ex. person you wish to hightlight in the poem in writing for ex. email or PM.

Then I would like you to email or PM me with a copy of both the written permission and poem so I can look them over. I am not trying to make this complicated it is just I would keep possible problems down to a minimum when it comes to writing about someone in any form whether poetic or not.

Since this is a contest too don't forget the norm rules about it in the forum. Other than that, have fun and goodluck to all the entrants.

Just to facilitate.

Anyone desiring to write anything pertaining to either SaintBoo or KittenFu, whether it be flattering or not, can feel free to do so, so long as they hold true to the actions and spirit of those characters. This is an open permission, offered in the spirit of fun and good RPmanship.

Note that this permission does not grant permission to use of any other characters I own, nor to myself the player as subject matter.

Not that too many people would write a love poem based on Miss Eternal Virgin Sanguinist Neck-Biter Who Hates The Naked People ((StBoo)) or the Spastic Space-Hair Anime-Grrl Who Loves Bots Just A Little Too Much ((KittenFu)) anyway... though I imagine there are some who might just LOVE to compose some cautionary ode or ribald ditty to parody either of them. I don't mind in the least and might get a serious giggle out of something like that. Just remember, Boo = insane virgin and Kitten = wacky anime girlie

Why not add a little grit to the texture of this oh-so-immersive experience?

Knock yourselves out.
