Okay, what is it with people now that they can't just own up to their own bad behavior and get with it? Why do they feel the burning need to blame their actions on other people and controlled substances? Do they honestly believe it absolves them of their stupidity and their tiresome antics?

I'm so SICK and TIRED of watching people act like complete knobs, then when they realize they've gone too far and pissed off the ones they want to like them, go "I'm sorry, I'm drunk (or stoned, or pissed off, or someone did the same thing to them)" then continue right on with their hijynks as if laying their actions on something else means it's okay for them to be total tools.

WTF?? A tool is a tool. Being in an altered state won't bring you absolution when you sober up. And no, any loss of respect you earned while being a complete jackass while angry or under the influence won't come back when you settle down or sober the hell up. It's gone. Till you find some real way to redeem yourself. If ever. If you feel the need to get wasted and act like an assclown, at least be a man or a woman about it and admit you've been an assclown.

I have nothing against intoxicants. Honestly, I think a little bit of alcohol isn't a bad thing. But when a person refuses to face their limits or just plain can't handle themselves while messed up, they need to stop getting messed up or face up to the fact that they're being stupid and that people aren't going to enjoy spending time around them.

Get some freaking personal culpability, people. It's not the booze's fault. It's not the pot's fault either. Yeah, it's 'just a game', but you're not the only ones paying to play, so you can't blame the game either.

I'd call this bitch-session "friends don't let friends game drunk", but that wouldn't be fair to people who CAN handle their alcohol and remain amusing and inoffensive when mildly thrashed (like our dear Tarryk). Some people are just fine when intoxicated. And you'll note that these same people tend to take responsibility for anything they do, drunk OR sober.

Yeah, you've guessed right. I've had yet another unpleasant encounter of the drunk and disorderly kind. And it was SO unpleasant that sleeping on it hasn't removed the aggrivation and disgust it raised in me.

Just please, people, think before you drink. Be honest with yourselves. Are you a messy, nasty, embarrassing drunk? Then don't log in while you're drinking. I'm not the only one who will thank you for it.

But yes, wise words indeed. People look for an excuse of their behaviors, just like the people blaming Mcdonalds for their obesity or criticizing something be it the government or little care of the environment, those very people who bitch do nothing to even lift a finger of help for.

Though I am quite suprised people get drunk and get online, especially enough to cause a problem.

If you get smashed on alcohol, don't drive, do not play, don't do something if it means danger to others, or will lead to embarrasment/anger/problems to others.

A friend, smart and wise girl beyond her youth once told me that drunks arn't excused for their actions any less. They realise what they're doing all the same, but just CARE alot less than normal. So with no inhabbitions on what they're doing, they just do things they might normally want to do, but don't care about what might normally stop them.

It makes you wonder about those people that get bad when they're drunk. I mean, bad. Hurt people bad. Makes you wonder.

But how oddly well timed too Booty. I am going drinking tonight, yet again. (1 dollar Long Island Ice Teas tonight. ) I didn't get drunk the last time I went out (a few days ago), so I still don't know what to expect. But these are words of wisdom expressed by more than one person that I can tell knows their shizzle. So bet your booty I'll listen to them. ^_^

(and you know what they say; If you reach even just one person.... Even though you probably wanna reach all those obnoxious drunks, huh? )

Oh c'mon, you gotta gimme at least a couple points on the offensive thing.

Seriously though, and what follows is not neccessarily contrary to what you're saying, StBoo, it just sounds that way at first.

When drinking, some people lose their coordination first, and their common sense later. I fancy myself to one of those. While I'm drinking, I can socialize with the best of them and, despite the tendency to curse a lot (albeit benignly, I do that anyway IRL), I tend to retain most of my common sense well into intoxication. It's my motor skills that go first, with hand-foot-eye coordination being the first thing affected to an insane degree. e.g. I can NOT drive even after just 1 beer, but you wouldn't otherwise know that I've drank at all.

Some people are the opposite. They retain the tendency to move and react decently well into intoxication, but they lose their common sense extremely fast. Sometimes so fast that when they are actually DRUNK-drunk, they can't even control what they say, and only have the ability to really put thought into what they're about to say AFTER it's already tumbled out of their mouth.

However, despite both of those points, alcohol is never a good excuse for poor behavior. Because if you are affected by it in such a way, you should have the responsibility to know NOT to drink when you put yourself into those social situations.

To sum up:

I will not drink anything when I think I might have to drive somewhere for any reason, because I am aware of how severely poor my driving becomes after just one sip.

Therefore

You (in the royal sense) should not drink anything when you think you might be in a social situation if you are aware that you cannot control the dumb and insulting s*&# you're saying to someone else. There's absolutely nothing wrong with you if alcohol effects you in that manner, you should just recognize the reason not to drink if it puts you in that situation.

I have enjoyed social drinking but to the point of being ill i have learned long ago it is not a pleasent expierence. Also after being raised by an abusive alcholic mother that said ohhh honey i am so sorry i beat you like that I dont remeber ding it Well it certainly made me think twice about how much alcohol should be consumed in one sitting. Drunks that are nasty and abusive are not fun even in a gameing atmosphere.......

I don't mean to be a jackass...but Saint, are you really sure they were drunk?

I've come into contact with people online and (less frequently) offline, who struck me and others as drunk, yet often would either fake it, or just seem like it.

Especially in a MMORPG, where you can run into some very scary, very odd people...

I would take your word on it but I wouldn't be suprised if some people who are Drunk ingame are either pretending to be, or are just jackasses in general.

NEVER IN MY LIFE, have I met as appauling, and generally unpleasant person as this young guy...

I wont slander him, but I will give you a warning. STAY CLEAR. If any of you are currently in the 80-110 area, and hunting in Elly... Watch out, this guy is an ass hat! (as it was so nicely put by a random person who passed him)

My entire team had apparently had the "pleasure" of meeting this guy, and let's just say ass hat was the nicest word I heard...

I'm dreading what would happen if this guy drank... He's unbearable as it is, I would hate to have to deal with him if he was hammered...

What can I say? The world is a three ring circus to some people and it's filled to brimming with assclowns.
