Personally I somehwhat optimistic (an oddity for me) - I believe that the unreallistic and clearly religious sided actions this administration is taking will be repealed after they are gone. It might give the affected folks major troubles in the meantime, but I'm sure History will show (about 5 to 7 years from now) that these times were times of gross incompetence of reasoning in the Federal Government that was mainly driven by an increased power of the Right and Rebuplicans in power!

Well it isn't simply this - though trying to pass a Constitutional Amendment banning same sex marriage is quite far out on a very thin limb if you ask me - I think lots of what Bush and his homeboys have been doing and getting away with will be fully understood and discovered in the coming years and everyone will be saying stuff like "We let them get away with this? What!? Were we all blind and dumb?" Too bad most of the damage will already be done and little good will probably come of it.

I picture it like what happened with the Iran-Contra discoveries. It was like - Oh yeah, well the government kinda funded a secret, illegal war paid for by taxes that could have funded your schools and maybe a drug deal or 20, but at least they didn't tell you about it and make you worry :?

The big shoe to drop this time will probably be what we all should already know to be true - GW 2012 A.D. "Well yes it's true that my brother Jeb Bush acted to ensure that I won the state of Florida and therefore the 2000 election, and I also had a fully drawn out plan to go to war with Iraq before I set foot in the White House, and I did very little to help any efforts to find Bin Laden, but I did really wish I could have banned those gays to ever marry! I promised Dad I'd do that for him. And yes I secretly was given millions from my oil buddies as I was drawing a salary as your president."
