I get so tired to log in, see like a dusin new post's (wich i scroll trhough) to see if there is anything informative/amusing/interesting, and only find spammage. I REALY wish that ppl would start to use the mIrc channel to chat. Or even better, remove the post (spam) counter on the forum.

I'm also partial to agree, and I'VE been the one taking devil's advocate to the postcount anti-farmers who want to start moderating here.

But it also might just happen soon, where we have to start moderating to keep the boring spam to a minimum. It's really rather annoying.

Spam spam spam spam! ^_^
I used to be a forum mod back when I played an internet cross breed version of Simcity and, um, simcity with wars. ^_^

But I probably shouldn't be a forum mod. I dunno when I'm going to go poof. ^_^;

hmm...easy for you two to say, tarryk (the boss, 1873 posts, GSP Crew title) and katrine (110 posts, GSP Dancer title)... but for me it's not. my title is lurker and i should be up to 2 stars and a new title soon. i see more casual farmers here anyhow, hell the last good mmorpg board i made a habit of visiting was around for less time than this board and had people that somehow managed to break 9000+ posts. but then i'm not competing for postcount, somebody might be, i only speak for those of us who are sick of their lowly titles.

Well personally I'd rather see a good contributor with a comparibly low count than a spammer with an undeservedly high one, any day. I think most would agree. And moderating the spam would only remove postcounts from those who actually DO farm, and don't contribute in the process, so I think you're relatively safe from that. :)

Rant On (again)
See my point. Remove the titles and the spam counter, if possible. Let the GSP crew be the only ones with titles. I used to think that the titles ment that they had contributed something good to the community by posting on the forums. Now i realise that its just a title marathon to 1000 post, just to choose a title.

Rant OFF

so you mean leave only the ones that say "GSP Crew" and take out your "GSP Dancer" title too?

i just hate being a "lurker" so i'm pushing for my second star... but a "spam moderator" would be a cool idea. i was thinking this thread was mainly against things like the "kiwi" thread which i think are fun posts, other than that i try not to spam, if i have nothing really to say i don't say anything, if i have more to say and nobody has replied to my other post then i just edit that one with extra info.

/me notes that she just edited her battlecry post twice when discovering how her bot and rk2 character all seemed to fit together.

I agree. The Bouncers don't have a special title. If they are truely seperate from GSP, why should the Dancers have a special title? I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just trying to make a point. :D

First: I dont care if i got a title. Remove it if it helps.

2'nd: If the GSP bounchers should have a title, is up for the GSP crew. I have NO idea how GSP bounchers are organised, who is in charge, or who theire GSP contact is. GSP dancers is under GSP controll. You should realy take this up with your GSP contact, not on the forums. ;-)

note: Im not trying to be a biatch. Its just that the spam is realy annoying, and i wish i could edit my first post. But since it has some replies. i feel that i cant. Now that i have calmed down ( NOT that i have been in a bad mood) i wish i had chosen my words more carefully.

A lot of huggles
Kat

*Edit*
- The Kiwi-thread is a good thread. PPL can spam there, and get a new title. And i dont have to read through 1000 posts to fint something interesting. I choose a spam thread before a spam forum.
- just noticed the poll. voted 2. well as i could get it.. titles will have to be earned. and given by GSP staff.

I ought to clear that up real quick. The GSP Dancers were started by and with GSP staff's knowledge and support initially, that is why they are supported fully by GSP.

The GSP Bouncers were started without our initial knowledge, by players (GSP fans, I would imagine, hehe). We don't disallow them, but we have not fully endorsed them yet (there's a few discrepancies to be worked on before that happens).

Having not actually hung out at Reet's for awhile now I have no real way of knowing what the GSP Bouncers do. I wondered though if they might not be standing guard outside of Reet's keeping interested folks from getting in - sorta like the doorman at the hot club in New York eyes potential customers and then ::pointing to 3 hot chicks near the middle of the line:: says "You may enter!" (then checks out people's shoes to see who has Italian leather shined to the point of glare-inducingness)...

or maybe they just keep the Troxes in line(dancing - now there's a pleasant image, Troxes line-dancing to Garth Brooks  )

O.k., I was told by a Dancer that they had no real connection to GSP. I won't mention names. Anyway, GSP Bouncers volunteer their time to help GSP whenever they can. We participate in contests. We help with donations. We talk to people who are causing commotions and try to calm them down. We petition them so the D.J.'s don't have to bother with it. We have been mentioned on GSP. We also help one D.J. in particular with a lot of things. That is what the GSP Bouncers do. :D

That basically sums it up well. I'll never deny that GSP Bouncers have done innumerable services for us, and we do enjoy their company quite a bit on many occasions. They rock. :)

I was told by a Dancer that they had no real connection to GSP.

GSP Dancers are endorsed by, but not directly affiliated with, GSP. So I guess the translation just depends on your personal definition of "connection".

well...what are you thinking about these "discrepancies," tarryk? i would like to know, grod would most likely also. sometime during the christmas season in the midst of doom on the gsp i heard that there was an atrox who was looking for some people to join a new org so i ventured to the glass dance floor and shortly after joined in what became the gsp bouncers. when the christmas party at the dish happened there were about 6 of us at the time, we all posed for pics, so if that dj is reading and has one to post i would like to see how they came out. i am unaware if he knew at the time grod's org would be called gsp bouncers, but he was dj'ing at the time of creation, announced grod's desire for people for this org, and took screenies of the team together at the party, so i assumed someone knew. no big deal, i guess, i would be interested in what we would need to work on though... and i've never shyed away when a dj (or dancer for that matter) needed assistance with anything.

our job is much like Jos said, we will help out on contests, do our best to calm down or help remove undesirables, add intimidation by having more gsp labelled people in the area, help raise funds (spin was auctioned off just the other day even), and even dance when everything's nice and friendly. i can't say i speak for the entire org as i'm not the boss, but i highly enjoy being part of gsp events, helping to populate these areas, and getting my not-quite-uber ass handed to me at deca's 5% gas shows. if there is a way for us to be in a greater connection to gsp i'm all for it and would like to know what needs to be done, these are great people and i love being a walking gsp promotion because of these players... so many nice players within the bouncers, dancers, dj's, and regular show attendees. give us some goals so that we know what we can try to acheive.

I am seeming to understand a bit more now. :D

I am willing to do what it takes to be endorsed as well! I didn't know what the difference was before. Now that I know I would very much so like to be endorsed by GSP! I also want the Dancers to know I also back them up as well. I've had people ask me in game about them and I have always said good things about them. I didn't have the exact answer as to what they do...lol. I just tell people that they are nice and they Dance....lol.
