Your favorite quotes...

Postby Nexeus » Mon Dec 15, 2003 9:24 pm

So I was in the barbershop... you know the typical one that you would imagine from the south whole bunch of people getting their hair cut, local discussion about cars, women, music videos, women, money, women... and women... . You know the local bunch old men and youngin's cutting hair, so one guy said something that I found funny, and with Tarryk's self quote in a post somewhere, I figured... hey what are your top Three favorite quotes? Here are mine:

"Those who lead the path of immaturity only endure pleasures momentarily"
~ Myself, 21st Century Pimp DJ

"In china china is not china it is an earthen ware. In China there is no need of China because in China china is china. All who liked china like china and have china. China in America is not an earthen ware"
~ Gertrude Stein, from "The Geographical History of America"

"It's funny, for nine months before you are born you are trying to get out of a hole, then for the rest of your life you are trying to get yourself into one"
~ Random guy at a barber shop, talking about the dilemma men face
Nexeus Fatale (.com) - The Next LVL

If you ever thought I stopped pimping... heh...

Postby Decavolt » Mon Dec 15, 2003 9:36 pm

These aren't necessarily my top/favorite quotes.. They're just what's comin to mind atm. Catch me after a some drinks and a loud bar show and the list may be totally different...

"Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will let it pass through me, and when it is gone there will be nothing -- only I will remain."
- Frank Herbert, Dune

"What bigger hell is there than a heaven full of people like you?"
- unknown/various

... my brain siezed up... I blame the chinese food I had for lunch. More will come to mind later, I'm sure.

(quite fitting for me atm)

"F@#k it Dude, let's go bowling."
- Walter, Big Lebowski

"Man, do I look like I'm F@#K'in married??? The toilet seat is UP man!!!"
- the Dude, Big Lebowski

"Man fears the darkness, and so he scrapes away at the edges of it with fire." - Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

And the one in my sig is also a favorite of mine.
The past is but a memory, the present is out of control, the future is in our hands

"I swear it by earth and water, I swear it by bronze and iron, I swear it by ice and fire."

h00t Decavolt - that is so my favorite book quote, of all time, ever. ;)

"We are our own Demise."
- myself, sudden epiphane in '97 (turned principle which I still live by)

"I've always felt like a vehicle for something else, but then I've never really sorted out what that was. I think everybody, at one time or another, gets that kind of feeling; that they aren't just here for themselves, and more often than not they turn to... religion. There's a feeling that we are here for another purpose, and in me it's very strong."
- David Bowie

"First of all, the author is a liar."
- 'Narrator', Wit'ch Fire (James Clemens)
(That particular quote, while quite simple, is actually really deep to me; it hints at how each story has it's own lies and truths, depending on who tells it. That is pretty much a fact of reality.)

[WARNING!]
The following quote is morbid... SKIP if you're faint of heart... Or if you don't get why black sarcasm is funny... This WILL offend people who like the british monarchy, tho I can't see why anyone would do that...

"Seat belts... who needs them"
~Diana

"It'll be over by christmas"
~Random soldier in WWI

Arh! what's the worst thing that could happen?
~Me before taking a leak on an electrical fence...

"Aww, it's so cute!!!"
~A friend of mine right before her new puppy took a dump on her leather couch...

"I bet this will be fun!"
~The first man to set foot on the Titanic

"Hueston, we have a problem"
~Any dumb moron who was ever shot into space
