Convexity Theory I - basic definitions and properties, separating and supporting hyperplanes, and combinatorial theorems of Caratheodory, Radon and Helly.
Stochastic Processes - Stochastic processes in discrete time including random walks, recurrent events, Markov chains and branching processes. Processes in continuous time including linear and nonlinear birth-death processes and diffusions.
High-Energy Astrophysics - High-energy radiation processes in astronomy: synchrotron radiation, bremsstrahlung, inverse Compton-effect. New wavebands of observation, UV, X-ray and gamma-ray astronomy. Radioastronomy: supernova remnants, pulsars, neutron stars. Radiogalaxies, active galactic nuclei, quasars. Theories of the origin of cosmic rays.
One cheerleader dropped in 2nd week.  The 2nd cheerleader actually ended up with an A and went on to graduate school in meterology.  Good for the stereotypes
