Movies: 80's - now

If anyone knows of anything please tell me.....I'm trying to complie lists of artists and movies that I want/need

Music was never my big thing. But movies are
Try the internet movie database http://www.imdb.com
On that site you can search for movies by the year that they were released. So, just start with whatever year you want and move on from there. Each search should list off every movie that was released in the particular year you are searching for. You can't get much more comprehensive then that.
You can also sign up for a free account on imdb, and create a list of your movies, sort them into sections of what you own on dvd, vhs, what you need to see, and what you need to buy.
It's all fairly user friendly.
