Personal Top 10 Songs

Postby Darth Bootay » Thu Oct 16, 2003 8:23 pm

Flakez asked Otori a VERY fun question in Otori's forumspace...SO fun, I couldn't resist nabbing it to pose to EVERYone. ;)

What are your top ten favorite songs? (1 being your absolute favorite and 10 just being uber)

10 BlutEngel - Seelenscmherz
9 Ravenous - Between the Worlds
8 Claire Voyant - Lolite (covenant mix)
7 Messiah - There Is No Law
6 VNV Nation - Savior
5 Elton John - Goodbye Yellowbrick Road
4 Project Pitchfork - Daimonion (You Hear Me In Your Dreams)
3 Covenant - Figurehead
2 Saint-Saens - Danse Macabre
1 Mozart - Ein Kleine Nachtmusik

Yes, that's for real. Elton John made #5 and Mozart made #1 and I'm NOT ashamed to admit it. =P

Answer HONESTLY.... if you dare!
"Ke barjurir gar'ade, jagyc'ade kot'la a dalyc'ade kotla'shya."

I don't really have a top ten song list... At least not one that remains constant over long periods of time. But how about I list my favorite song from each of the albums sitting on top of my computer at this moment?

Search for the New Land -- Lee Morgan
Crash -- Bozzio, Levin, Stevens
Alice -- Tom Waits
Hymn -- Toby Twining
Jump Man -- Buckethead
Mr. Skin -- Spirit
Radio Inferno -- FM Einheit
Chameleon -- Herbie Hancock
Magdalene -- Gong
Overture of the Rebel Angels -- Danzig
Everybody Knows -- Leonard Cohen
The Hidden Garden / Naima -- Material
Far Wells, Mill Valley -- Mingus

Edit/PS--I completely agree with Danse Macabre, but I wasn't in a classical mood this weekend.

Also cant forget...
Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream is one of the best CDs ever.

So is Guns N Roses Appetite For Destruction.

So is Megadeth - Peace Sells, but Who's Buying?

So is Metallica - Master of Puppets

So is Tool - Lateralus

So is Allanis Morrisette - Jagged Little Pill (This album sold over 28 million worldwide. JLP is great, but her newer stuff blows).

Anyway...ther's lots more.

9. Rammstein - Adios
8. anything by In Extremo (if I have to pick a song: Wind)

6. TIE: Clutch - Animal Farm or Celldweller - Switchback

This should give you a glimpse into my disturbed little mind:

And please pardon my atrocious spelling.

0. Drowning Pool - Let the Bodies Hit the Floor (Sooo angry!)
9. Enya - Oricono Flow or Carribiean Blue (Me and the wife danced to this)
8. Wolfstone - Brave Boys (Yes, I named my avatar after this band, they would fill up this list if I didn't try to be diverse.)
7. Bad Religion - 21st Century Digital Boy (Seems applicable heheh)
6. Limp Bizkit - Take a Look Around (yeah i know, but it's a great song!)
5. Eiffel65 - Blue or Move Your Body (Blue is my cell phone ring, ok Tris?!)
4. Chieftans - Theme from Rob Roy (I love movie soundtrax)
3. Candlebox - Far Behind (Just love the guitar at the beginning)
2. Disturbed - Sickness / NME (Yay more angry!)

And my number one fav: Blind Guardian - Bard's Song

I'm a huge Tolkien nerd, and a Hard Rock band that sings about hobbits, elves, Sauron? I'm in heaven. This song is a ballad though, and very memorable, catchy and there are live versions of this song with an audience speaking german I think - then the song starts, and they all sing in English. It's incredible. :)

And I forgot to sneak Alien Ant Farm's cover of Michael Jackson in here somewhere. Oh well.

9. Alizee - Moi Lolita
8. Master Blaster - How old are you?
7. My Will - Inuyasha (Anime)
6. Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm
5. REM - Losing my Religion
4. Look up! The Sky is Falling (from Robotech, an anime, so i don't really know the singer)
3. Disturbed - Down With the Sickness
2. Spineshank - New Disease (big thanks to both Ichyro and Tarryk for turning me to them)
1. Peter Gabriel - Red Rain

The reasons for Peter Gabriel and REM being in there is because i grew up listening to them, and those two are my favorite songs by them.
The past is but a memory, the present is out of control, the future is in our hands
