The RKCSoP (Lesson Two)

(The Rubi-Ka Corispondance School of Photography)

All right you have all seen my screen shots (or perhaps you haven't... it doesn't matter) and now I will be starting the RKCSoP. I will be doing this in steps with each post being a new lesson. But there are a few standing rules that I will mention in each lesson. Never just take one screen shot. Be creative.

All right lesson Two is as you know - It's a screenshot but is it art? -

Take the screen shot below for instance. Is it art? Or just anouther screen shot?

Well the answer is No it's not art. But it's not just anouther screen shot. This is what I like to call, a turist shot. What's a turist shot you might ask. Well a turist shot is a picture of something that just happens to be, such as a sign in Athen, or a beer can on a table, or a screen shot of that leet walking down the training grounds.

To be art it has to be more. For instance a sign in athen, that might have someone standing near it in such a way so that they look like they are tring to pull it down. Or perhaps if there was a hot chick sitting near that beer can wearing nothing but a red tie.... Now that would be art.

As for the leet example, just a picture of an NPC mob isn't good enough to be called art. There should be something to the picture. Is the leet standing ontop of a the body of a dead lvl 200 character making it look like it actualy won? or perhaps there is an unusal number of leets in the area making it look like a leet paraid.

Don't just go for the screen shot of the boss, when he hasn't agroed... go for the two screen shots where the first one is of the boss almost killing everyone in the group, and the second is of you guys wining. Now that's art. Not only did you turn a battle around, but you took the time to take not one but two good screen shots during the fight. To pull this one off, you might want to not use medkits, and not use heals until after the first screen shot, and as soon as you got the screen shot locked in get your doc to heal the team before you all die a painfull and embarrasing death.

So that's lesson Two. I don't know what lesson three will be yet. Perhaps something called LOCATION LOCATION LoC4+10|\|!

What about the all-important factors of lighting and angle? A combination of those two things can make the difference between just-another-screenie and a work of art worth hanging on a wall. Use of nano effects is also a sweet trick to use in composing an excellent photo. ;)

Egads your skiping ahead... that's lesson 57... so impatient (Grins)

Actualy I have no intention of doing anymore lessons, I was just goofing around and wanted an excuse to make a screen shot of a can of beer.

But is it art?

LOL I can't help it! I'm an advanced student. Wouldn't call myself a master coz I'm still breathing. LOL! Why is it that chefs, architects, actors and musicians get to be masters while they're still alive but to be a master ARTIST you're required to be a corpse? What up wit dat???

LOL GAH!

To be an Artist is to Create.

To be a Master is to Understand.

To Understand is to see the finished Creation.

To be a True Artist one forever Creates.

Only when a True Artist no longer creates, can that Artist be called a Master.
