Seems your mind is made up, and about the coolness factor:
No there is none, it's a tongue piercing, and unless you start sticking your tongue out all the time, then it's a pretty private thing to have done.
But don't underestimate the 'mom' factor peeps, that is the fun part of it :wink:

Well personally I'd never do it. Had a friend who had one(lost touch with him, but I don't doubt he still has it) many years ago before they got to be so hip. Now it really fit him, his basic style and attitude. He was an odd mix of personal attributes, but that was OK cause he was more sure of himself and level-headed than most folks are. But again on-topic I think if this type of thing really suits you, so be it, pierce away. But if you find yourself debating it and asking for advice on a forum I'd haveta say it's probably not your cup O Earl Grey. But you are free to do as you please.

Hehe... it's not so much asking advice, as forcing myself to go through with it...

It's the same if you want to go parashooting, one thing is making up your mind, another is doing it. But by telling people you're doing it, you force yourself too, even tho it's what you want...

I just have a bad habbit of not doin sheit unless I have too... not even when it's for my own good... so I generally force myself to do what I decided to do... hehe

Okay my two cents added onto Tarryk's dollars, and everyone elses change...

If your going to peirce your tounge, go ahead and do it, if you want to be original, don't peirce it in the middle, perice it on the side or something.

I just say it's a pain in the ass to go through metal detectors (not that I'm periced anywhere), especially if you have one *cough*downthere*cough*

But if you want an excess of metal on your body, well there other ways to do it, get a chain, get one of those wallets with the chain hanging out, put a lead pipe in your pocket... get a chain around your check and but a really big lead pipe on it... yeah beats that clock idea. Get metal plates in your head, get a metal hand. Perice your finger, pierce your hair (not as in the scalp, as in the hair strand).

But most importantly of all PIERCE SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT TO PIERCE! Do it 'cause you want to, and PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME PHOTO'S LATER!

I really don't want to know if you went ahead and deices to get a piercing on you left westernmost tip which had to be found using several maganification devices because they wanted to be absolutely sure that they were piercing the most outer area, of your eye lid.
