Wow. Found my first rude person in this game.

Oi. Was doing Ami Legend, got to the point where it says "defeat the attacking ak'ab", and there was someone already there. So I watched and waited, letting him tag stuff, and then jumping in to help and casting shields on him.
The quest finally completes, and I get the below pic in whispers.

Somehow.. I was under the impression that A) anyone on a quest can jump in and assist, and get credit (went smoothly everytime I jumped in, and had other people jump in), and B) at this particular spot, there's nothing special to "camp", especially not for 20 minutes, as the quest is easily resetable.

To my knowledge, you're absolutely right about how quest mobs work. I've never had any issues with someone not getting credit when someone else helps with the kill.

Yeah. Everytime I've started it, and I see someone else jump in, I ask "did you get credit" in /say or whispers, and only move on if they got credit, or weren't on it in the first place (but just wanted to help)

Ditto in vice versa for jumping in after someone else started it.

ugh What a dick. To be devil's advocate, I have had quest mobs not count for everyone that attacked them. I just ran into it in City of the Sun God. I was polite and let the person who was there first tag the mobs just in case and then saw that, no, they didn't count for my mission. I just waited until no one was around (or in busy areas I just get tired of being polite ). But yeah, they were so out of line. 20 minute spawn time my ass. I've never seen a 20 minute spawn time for a mission-related mob in this game. This isn't frikkin' AO.

That's what disqualified me from the costume contest. I had general off, and apparently they were holding the contest there and not responding in gridstream or /say as to what channel we were using for the costume contest this time around. I heard the winner announced on air before I ever got acknowledgement. That dialogue is the result of turning it back on the next day.
