I haven't seen it yet.. But I plan on going VERY soon!!!

Not anymore. Meister plays SWG now too.

Palla wrote:Though, I feel, to properly judge a game, someone needs to actually play it Sure, you can have opinions based on pictures, videos or a beta test, but till ya have actually played it, and I'm not tyring to sound rude, but the opinion doesnt matter as much -- I betaed it. I didnt like it in beta.

Gave it a chance on release anyway? I'm enjoying it.

I tried the beta and hated it.. won't give the release a try but if you are truly enjoying it, I'm happy for you :)

And I thought girls just liked Orlando Bloom because he was an elf. O_0

I can barely even reconize him as Blackburn in Black Hawk Down, let alone in dialogue or in looks.... weird.

Palla, the game was originally going to be a MMOG using a graphics and level system very similar to Everquest 2. (and boy Do I remember the flames and rants about this in the early forum days. Whiny fanboys. grrr)

However, with the SW license they decided to drop the everquest 2 engine and custom design their own (take 2 and a half years out of the time they had to make the game with that one. :P took em two years to get everything right and another 6 months to start allowing access to more then just tatooine and naboo, how did they ever expect to make a great game with so little time for GAMEPLAY is beyond me. And I mean it. in mid 2000 they got the rights. they started building the engine. I've seen what they had for the E3 show of 2001. it was just 3 different areas that were barely big enough to run from one end to the other in 2 minutes with a couple monsters thrown in to look cool. finally at around 2002 the second half they had it done and Tatooine almost complete and they opened testing. However, they still hadn't even come close to balancing and fixing everything or even testing some of the elite professions before launch. they rushed the game out due to demand from the head dogs and to get more money to develop it. sounds like a familiar tactic anyone?). They also decided to make a new system, due to the fact that a level based EQ system would cause the "EQ in space" phrase to be thrown aroud the forums like a drunken woman in a orgy.

However, after seeing what it became I wish they had kept all the EQ systems. I beta tested it and found it boring after the initial "wow" phase wore off, and I played it a bit after the beta test (and after they took what was a fast leveling system and turned it into a hellish grind. Yeah I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but I think they made it such a slow long grind to hide the fact that at high levels there is nothing to bother doing. the grind is all there is, and by the time you reach master this or that they will have added some content and you'll never know how lame it really is) and found it even worse.

Yup.

Legolas, the guy in the pirates of the carribean, Pvt. Blackburn the guy who falls from the Blackhawk 60 feet in the air and is out the entire movie....aaand Orlando Bloom Himself.

I liked his badass-persona as a Elf, really. :D

If I was gay or was like Ranma (Able to be a woman), then maybe. ;)

Actually...

I reconize him as Blackburn now, its a lot harder then reconizing him as Legolas though.

With this link, I have sealed Tristalyns fate.

She'll never leave it again. :D

*At the risk of being thought to be gay, I will let Tristalyn go to galleries, images one and two. ;)*

Lazyimp: Actually, I would like to see your sources as to this, as I recall hearing totally differently.

EQ2 is going to be using a system similar to SWGs, from what I hear.

Just being honest! :D

Think the girl I'm covering for at work would appreciate coming back to an Orlando Bloom background and screensaver? Who could be mad about that?!

Ya know what.. you're right! I mean, even though she is well into her 40's I'm sure she wouldn't mind looking at him all day..I know I wouldn't!

At least it would give her something to remember me by..

"ah yes.. she's that girl that decorated my computer with that handsom man while I was away... remind me to send her a nice Christmas gift."

I'll need a bit of time to round them up again Palla.

My sources from the old forums are gone since they deleted every single post when they made the new post launch forums. The original agreement between Lucasarts and Sony/Verant is no longer on the site of lucasarts.com, replaced by the SWG page they have there.

All my sources from 2 years are pretty much deleted and/or moved. I'll scrounge around though for you.

*edit: oh yeah, forgot to mention that if they did keep records of the posts the records they had when I checked the old forums before launch didn't go back 2 years. they deleted them after they got a certain age to free up space and memory. Kind of stinks if you ever have to go back to look at them.
