Need help with the name of a song...

Postby Indego » Tue Apr 15, 2003 8:06 pm

I am new to the game and did not know about the gridbot commands... I heard a song the morning of Monday April 14th EST around 11 am i think .. It was Ava Maria, the actual song from the opera but it was put to a techno beat... If anyone knows who the artist is or the name of the song if it differs from Ava MariaI would greatly appreciate the info... :D

It could be that band "E Nomine" or something, it has opera/apoclypse/religous (Chants and all that) like beats with techno.

Tough one. There are quite a few techno artists who use opera in their mixes. I could be wrong here, but I don't think it's E Nomine (he rarely uses true opera, just gothic chanty sounds).

Potentials: Enigma, Nightwish (remixed), hm....will have to think more on this and inquire to the guild.

I can't see it being Enigma. they are more into Benedictine monk chants....I'll ask around the station I work at but we are a rock station so I don't see me having much luck there...So once again if anyone finds out It would be greatly appreciated...

Yeah, E Nomine is more religous chants, but not the Gregorian chants either.

Its tough. Tarryk or who DJ'ed, can you do something like run though the list for gridstream that night?

Speaking of which, actually... any good bands with the more Gregorian Chants and creepy religousness to em?

Can't really go through the list since they are often formed on the fly and deleted just as quick, so even the DJ who was on wouldn't know.

Do you know if it was a live DJ or a playlist?

For gregorian chants and gothic techno, my faves are E Nomine and Enigma (<--- old-school enigma is GREAT on the gregorian chant stuff, anything from the album "MCMXC A.D.")

Brain fart, more later.

DJ was Kyrros, and I think he might have been live at that point, not sure... He's insane... Great guy but totally insane sleeping hours, worse than me even! *laugh* anyway.... Send a tell to Kyrros, he knows his music pretty well and would probably be able to tell you :)

That would probably be Ave Maria by Paul Schwartz. I think that's the only Ave Maria mix I've got right now, although I really like it... it's more like a trance song than a dance one.

Soon as I badger X to set up a Forum space for me I'll post playlists of the shows I've done, barring the first one (cause that one got fubare) up for people to browse.
